Anyone suggesting we strip away the power of criminal charging or congressional impeachment is a treasonous statement and that person is unfit to sit on the bench.

I doubt the OP would buy the same argument if it were an Obama appointee saying the same thing.

Oh and the correct spelling is CRAPINALL.

If you want to live under a government with no checks on power, try Russia OP.

Actually, I look at the idea more than who it is from.  And frankly, I don’t think he is probably saying quite what you think he’s saying.  I haven’t looked into it thoroughly, to be certain, but I have a feeling that you didn’t either.

Breitfart is a conspiracy rag not a news organization. And it's founder Bannon is a sick fucking asshole who panders to white nationalist bigots.

It's not really an idea though, is it? It's a piece of purported news and considering the source is relevant. The 'idea' is irrelevant if it didn't happen. In this case, it seems like it would be pretty irrelevant if it did happen, it's not like Trump didn't promise to install a justice who would overturn Roe v. Wade if given the opportunity. That he found one with a dash of 'the president can do whatever he wants without being prosecuted while in office' was just a bonus.

RE: Forgot to change name!
Last October, he was part of the decision regarding a pregnant undocumented teenager in a detention facility seeking an abortion. The court ruled that the girl could briefly leave the government's custody in order to have the procedure, but Kavanaugh dissented, writing that the Trump administration admitted the teen had the right to an abortion, but the court should not have decided she had the right to an "immediate abortion on demand." He also argued that the procedure could have waited until she was released to an American sponsor, as the delay would not have imposed an undue burden on the girl's right to an abortion.

What problem could a women's rights group have with this guy? It's not like he tried to force an undocumented immigrant to have a baby by playing the waiting game with  a spurious interpretation of the law.

I don't think I'm following you on it's not an idea. While I think that it's wise to consider how it could be abused, and prevent any abuse, it would seem that this would apply to future Presidents as well. Frankly without seeing more information and context, I doubt that it would be 'the president can do whatever he wants without being prosecuted while in office' and wouldn't support that.

It's the idea that's important, RR, why are you asking for more information and context? Just ponder the idea.

To find out exactly what (idea) is being proposed in this particular case. To see if the idea is being accurately represented here or blown out of proportion because of who is involved. Does this seem unreasonable to you?

You don't seem to find interest in that sort of thing when you're putting something out. Your OP for example. Are you holding me to a different standard than you hold yourself to? I refer to your post #8 where you indicate that you are more interested in the idea than who it is from.

To be fair, Trump had already published a list of prospects. From the Left's perspective, judges endorsed by the Federalist Society would be interchangeable.
