11-Year-Old College Grad Wants to Pursue Astrophysics to Prove God’s Existence

He could have just examined for a grade in a lot of classes. If he was home-schooled in earnest, not as a cop-out for "religious freedom", he could have mastered the K-12 curriculum fairly quickly. Look at how much repetition is in the K-12 curriculum. It remains to be seen how he fares.

Why does God, if he exists, need an 11-year old to prove that which he can prove himself.

God seems terribly inept for a "god" doesn't it?

Not if you remember to blame everything bad that happens on us, and give him credit for everything good that happens. Anyone would come off as a hero when you do that.

Gods aren't meant to be proved. If they did, they would cease to be gods and something we could understand.

In any case the kid should have read Carl Sagan who has perfect message to him:

“The idea that God is an oversized white male with a flowing beard, who sits in the sky and tallies the fall of every sparrow is ludicrous. But if by 'God,' one means the set of physical laws that govern the universe, then clearly there is such a God. This God is emotionally unsatisfying... it does not make much sense to pray to the law of gravity.”
teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"

Wow a child brainlessly repeating the cosmological argument ....

Worst part is when he says if the universe was always around we would detect no age .And the tired appeal to everything needing a cause accept god.

Well at least this does prove one thing.

The cosmological argument is a child's argument.

Yeah, he somehow manages to make the argument worse. Scientists don't claim to know the exact age of the universe, only that our models break down before a certain point.

I don't think badly of the kid. He's just unfortunate enough to have been indoctrinated so is wasting his brains on this nonsense.
