I have met this cute girl. Had a good time with her but found out she is a deeply religious, she actually thinks the Earth is young. I decided not to talk more about it, but I was really shocked. Should I see her again or just dump her? As an Atheist I don't see how we could ever get along and I doubt I could ever convince her to jump ship.

I have a catholic republican wife. I'd kick her ass to the curb if one of those traits changed.

I'm head over heels for my Christian (non-denominational) girlfriend. But we agree on most political issues.

My ex was a right-libertarian. I was a borderline socialist Political Science student. There was no way we could go a week without arguing about it. Mostly my fault, admittedly. Religion doesn't carry the same weight to me, so it is of no importance.

I think I should start looking for someone like that after sleep. Anyone can advise me if Catholic girls are better than Protestant ones or there is no difference?

Tell her you're atheist and see where the conversation leads. If she's accepting of your lack of belief, you might have something there.

If she were atheist too, that wouldn't automatically make you compatible. There are so many other variables in interpersonal relationships.

The guy I'm dating believes in Buddhism and reincarnation, which matters not a whit to me. We respect each other's beliefs/ lack of beliefs and are compatible in other ways. But it took awhile to figure this out, our compatibility wasn't immediately crystal clear in our first conversation. It sounds like you just met her once. In the end, it's up to you to decide if it's worth it to invest your time in getting to know her.

Thanks for your replies. The main problem is not that she is Catholic, but that she thinks the Earth is young, and probably a bunch of other nonsense, that's like Ken Ham religious. If we hookup after the newness is over then we will have nothing else keeping us together. The relationship won't last long after.
