Since it seems the real point of your latest volley is that liberals and liberals alone should, I'm inclined to read between the lines and see this as nothing more than dishonest partisan posturing on your part.

You are entitled to your opinion. I do not believe I could have expressed my sincerity in an honest conversation any more clearly than I already have. It just so happens that 1) Republicans are the current party in power and the primary target of disparagement and 2) civility has increasingly become an issue for all sides with a majority of mainstream media having openly expressed opposition to the Trump administration and Trump supporters accusing those outlets as purveying deceptive and biased coverage.

If only you actually believed that
Quote:You are entitled to your opinion. I do not believe I could have expressed my sincerity in an honest conversation any more clearly than I already have.
Then that's sad
Quote: Republicans are the current party in power and the primary target of disparagement
Yup and justly so
Quote:civility has increasingly become an issue for all sides with a majority of mainstream media having openly expressed opposition to the Trump administration and Trump supporters accusing those outlets as purveying deceptive and biased coverage.
Civility in the face of evil is apathy and Trump has earned every harsh word despite the salty tears of his cult followers .

"All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing."
Not sure which side of the debate this is for, but I thought I'd throw it out there.

My friend, you really are out of touch. You think harassing people is a one sided political behavior? You could easily find it if you bothered to even look. I mean, I'm aware that liberals also engage in terrible behavior. What kind of bubble do you live in where you do not see the other side?
See conservatives harassing actress Kelly Marie Tran off of twitter with their anti-SJW diatribes and telling her to kill herself (and then defending the diatribes by saying, hey, she never said that was why she quit twitter! As if that was a defense of being a bullying asshole).
Jesse Waters of Fox News regularly harassed numerous writers at HuffPo. Even ambushing them.
See Trump himself harassing every famous liberal who has ever spoken publicly about their dislike of him. Even mildly.
Jeesus, basically EVERY conservative pundit right now that defends Trump, is defending someone who regularly harasses and bullies those of his political opposition.
+1
Harrassment spews from both ends of the political spectrum. Pretending that it only comes from one side is disingenuous.
Most of us regular citizens don't condone or encourage harassment, even when it's from the political side that we identify with. I get out there and march in left-leaning protests, etc but I've publicly rebuked extremist behavior from the political left.
On an interesting side note - Smithsonian Magazine did a story about "The Schoolgirls Who Shattered Segregation" in the American south in the 60s. I was surprised that one of the girls said when she was in elementary school when Kennedy was assassinated, many in her (mostly white) school were happy because they resented that Kennedy sent in federal troops to enforce desegregation.
Think about that - citizens with views that were so entrenched against the president that they were happy he was killed. And this was 55 years ago.
So, Neo, the issues you raise aren't all that new.

If you can protest outside abortion clinics, I don't see why people shouldn't be allowed to protest public figures wherever they go.

Not to mention the abortion provider who was shot in his own home by an anti-abortion sniper back in the 90s.

Meh, it's silly. The wingnuts on the right have spent at least as long as I've been alive baying like rabid dogs..at least, when they weren't beating some darky or bombing a clinic. Now they want civility.
Too bad. All that tree watered with blood shit might come true, just not the way they envisioned it. It's sort of ridiculous..when you really think about it. The idea that a popular resistance would arise out of conservatism. Bound up in the names and identifiers. The right was always destined for a popular complacence, in opposition to those who had the courage of their convictions and the will to change. If mean words are the worst of it, they're getting off easy.
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!
