Yeah...and when Trump is nationalist, the proper label is xenophobic. What was I thinking?
I can see that a little, but I think that it is more that he is just less political, diplomatic and PC then is perhaps desired. He doesn’t always think before he speaks, and certainly doesn’t think about the prooftexters, who are going to try and twist everything he says.

Nope but those are lame excuses

He's expressive of his true beliefs and no we don't need to twist his words what he says says it all .

University Alumni and Daughters of the Confederacy.
A real gem from the dedication speech.

I performed the pleasing duty in the immediate presence of the entire garrison.

No, I'd say harassing any person is wrong. There are ways to voice opposition without resorting to harassment.
"Of course, everyone will claim they respect someone who tries to speak the truth, but in reality, this is a rare quality. Most respect those who speak truths they agree with, and their respect for the speaking only extends as far as their realm of personal agreement. It is less common, almost to the point of becoming a saintly virtue, that someone truly respects and loves the truth seeker, even when their conclusions differ wildly."

Amusingly enough, the current incarnation of the daughters of the confederacy agrees with removing these statues, and has been moving them on their own dime.
It's just the "statue enthusiasts" that think they should forever remain in place.

I invite you to organize tours of the confederate statues to highlight how vile were the institution these traitors to their country killed their fellow countrymen to protect, like tours of sushwitz and dachau highlight how vile were the exterminators racial policies of the very same Nazis whose flags were waved by those (fine men, according to YOUR president) seeking to protect these statues.
Are you game?
