And whether the priest’s off buggering choirboys or not...

Since I'm culturally Catholic, and any religious event I'm dragged to is Catholic, I just assume the answer is 'yes' any time I'm unfortunate to be in church.

To destroy the evidence of the one (choirboy’s) ring?

The last time I was at a "church", it was for the marriage of the daughter of a family friend. It was religious in the sense that the officiant was some sort of religious guy. But the bride is extremely shy, and fortunately she and the husband were able to prevail with having him marry them, and then shut up (though he did get in a dig about her shyness). Held outside under a canopy at a local country club, it was actually pretty nice. Her big brother served as DJ, and did a great job.
If you get to thinking you’re a person of some influence, try ordering somebody else’s dog around.

I'm just baffled that anyone can find church to be a worthwhile experience.  The entire thing is predicated on some jerk who's been given far too much clout in the community telling you that you have no value unless you dedicate yourself to the service of some unfalsifiable being who, if it doesn't exist, sure acts like it.  While begging for money to keep the farce running.

It's not even a social endeavor in and of itself.  You just mindlessly follow along with the calisthenics.

1. Music can be good or very good.
I don't remember ever listening to good music in baptist churches. Catholic or Lutheran yes.
2. Singing can be good in Orthodox or Catholic churches
3. Girls are pretty or very pretty.
Anybody got a girlfriend attending a church?
4. You can meet Son of the Preacher Man there.

But I would prefer his daughter.
5. Yuri Orlow bought Uzis through a man he met in a synagogue.
I suppose churches are also a good place to do business, but I didn't have much luck with it.
I liked the parts where these old yahoodies tolchock each other and then drink their Hebrew vino, and getting onto the bed with their wives' handmaidens.

The first time I met Boss Lady we went to Old Town Albuquerque, a tourist trap with plenty of bars. As we were walking along the street I suddenly noticed the building to my right. I stopped, handed her my wallet and the keys to the rental, and then stepped on the sanctified grounds.

Nothing. I didn't burst into flames. I took my stuff back and we proceeded on.

"Yeah, there is no god."
