My quaint and outdated midwestern sensibilities are agitating me to assure myself the outrage over the (current) Brennan matter is real and not feigned.
So, I'm doing a thought experiment where President Obama revokes the security clearance of Sean Hannity (Fox commentator like Brennan is for MSNBC) and imagining the comments.
Hannity serves at the pleasure of the president!
Security clearances are a right, not a privilege!
Hannity is clearly disloyal, why would/should Barrack tolerate the situation?
So, I will confess to some queasiness over this . . . .

I think that it might be a more useful thought experiment if there was any meaningful equivalence whatsoever..don't you?

To clarify:
A refutation would look something like this; when Obama did something similar, there WAS bipartisan rebukes and castigation, go check out this link: {whatever} to see the blowback Obama received.
And then I would post something like, thanks for jogging my memory about that!

Did I black out and miss the time that Obama revoked a former cia directors security clearance as reprisal for his comments on an investigation into the obama administration, too?

Vor..follow me through the weeds. Obama would have had to have done something like that, for him to have (or have not) received condemnation..for doing something like that. Brennan isn't a rando msnbc commentator..and his security clearance wasn't revoked on account of his new job.
You're trying to do a thought experiment in which neither the act..nor the actors, are equivalent..in order to determine whether or not the response is genuine.
While it may be true that Obama didn't get the same response for doing something that trump got when they are roughly equivalent (I'll note as I always do that obama was the deporter in cheif and a drone warlord)..this example isn't going to yield an example of that. Yes, what trump did is genuinely appalling...but, otoh, he's probably managed to piss off the spies again..so some good may come of it.
