Wait, is this a record post-vaccination high or a record all-time high? The phrasing is kind of ambiguous and it's not explained in the article.

Let's pretend that vaccines can cause autism, but that they do so at a rate lower than the chances of your kid dying without the vaccine.
Would you vaccinate your kid under these circumstances? Is this an accurate portrayal of an anti-vaxer's situation, as they see it?
Let's say we shift the numbers a bit (I'm just going to make it up) so that a vaccine:
-Has a 0.001% chance of stopping your kid dying
-Has a 0.003% chance of giving your kid autism
Would you apply the vaccine now? If so, how much further would you push these numbers and still apply it?

Death is not the only consequence of diseases like measles. High fevers can cause brain damage, blindness, sterility among other things.
Also it looks like the vaccine itself is not what they think is causing autism, but some of the stuff added to it or vehicle for lack of a better term. I think if they did find positive correlation than the vehicle could be changed.
Also, we are not talking about only 1 disease here.

There is a compound of mercury added as a preservative. A tiny, tiny amount is used. One gets more mercury when eating a can of tuna, by far. The research blaming mercury has been debunked over and over, but people just want to believe in something from a needle being the cause, instead of their own genetics.
