Yes I wouldn't mind you doing that actually. I gather that you think heaven is more a state of mind rather than an actual existence (have I understood you correctly?) If so, do you think that all your memories and experiences are wiped clean? Do you enter this heaven with all the knowledge that you possess now? I ask this because I often think about people who have endured terrible lives, are they 'fixed' magically in your heaven?

Let's take someone who has developed dementia in later life as an example, what would be your take on their situation, or maybe a severely disabled person who has endured an uphill struggle all their life? Is their heavenly state of mind going to be on a par with yours?

No, it is an actual existance. What I said is that it is a state of being rather than a physical place.

Yes, we still enter with all the knowledge, memories, and experiences we have had in this life.

People who have lived terrible lives still enter the afterlife with the memory of their terrible lives. But the love of God (if they choose to accept it) will overwhelm them with complete fulfillment and complete joy. So it isn't that they won't remember their painful memories. But that it will no longer matter or be relevant. The person is now existing in complete joy and complete love. It will "cure" any pain or trauma they feel from their past life.

As for people with illnesses/disabilities, either physical or mental.... well, since only our souls go to the afterlife and not our bodies or our brains, any disease, illness, disability, etc, will no longer apply. The person with dementia, bi polar disorder, mental retardation, etc, will be able to experience existance clearly from that point on, as though they no longer have those diseases.

(Disclaimer: this is all my belief/opinion)
"Of course, everyone will claim they respect someone who tries to speak the truth, but in reality, this is a rare quality. Most respect those who speak truths they agree with, and their respect for the speaking only extends as far as their realm of personal agreement. It is less common, almost to the point of becoming a saintly virtue, that someone truly respects and loves the truth seeker, even when their conclusions differ wildly."

Ok.

Thanks for making a clearing among the fog.  Worship (large)
Now you finally admit that you haven't got any evidence that God said that bad people go to hell.  Lightbulb

Matthew 13:37-40: 'He answered and said unto them, He that soweth the good seed is the Son of man; The field is the world; the good seed are the children of the kingdom; but the tares [weeds] are the children of the wicked one; The enemy that sowed them is the devil; the harvest is the end of the world; and the reapers are the angels.  As therefore the tares are gathered and burned in the fire; so shall it be in the end of this world.'

You're welcome.

Boru

Matthew?

Oh, yes.......the guy that lives across the road.....oh, yeah.....

Sometime I have a chat with Matthew about growing basil and parsley in the garden.........yeah very nice chap. Popcorn

Oh, sorry you mean that Matthew that used to follow Jesus few thousand years ago.
Yeah, now I know what you mean.  Lightbulb

No, Boru I wouldn't believe people who come up with stories about hell and the end of the world.

Beside I don't believe for a minute that Matthew ever said that.
You have no idea how the priests always manipulate someone real experience and turn them into a total different story in order to become intermediaries between God and the masses.
These cunning devils  4 Horsemen  dress in black stop at nothing.

Don't believe what they say or write.   Doh

Hey Rik,

There's a guy on the forums who says he can logically disprove the existence of God. Do you think you can demonstrate otherwise?

If you ask me few concise and short questions and I will answer you.
No problem about that but if you expect me to waste a good 25 minutes of my precious time reading that never ending rant  Argue than I will have to decline.  Lightbulb

Abby, that is *after* Heaven. That will happen after the second coming of Christ, when everything on Earth will be restored. I am speaking of the time we have our souls only, the time between now and the second coming.

That is hair splitting. Your body will be your soul's home in heaven.
