Doctor, fire responders, police OR military, why the fuck would I care who saves my ass or protects me solely based on what is between their legs?
I DON'T give a fuck about gender roles. If it is an act of compassion it should not matter who does what or what gender saves the other gender.
I have long accepted that men are not all Rambo, and not all women are meek and weak.
Anyone suggesting that sex organs define might or morality are fucking idiots.
When my brother returned home from basic training with some friends and I happened to be visiting, I confronted them when I overheard them refer to female soldiers as “portable combat mattresses”.
Needless to say, they got quite the earful from me!

Good for you. Those women did what I could not do. I actually washed out of Air Force basic. Not because of the physical stuff, that part was easy. Mind you when I went in, I had a childhood all the way through high school of being bullied. First time away from home, scared out of my mind, get off the plane to have DS screaming at you for hours on end. It got to me. Every day, 5:30 in the morning till sometimes 10pm at night fearing the DS screaming in your face. I look back at it now and understood they were not trying to tear me down to make me feel bad, but to prepare me for service. But when you are young and already insecure and don't know much about life, it is very scary. I have no shame in saying I couldn't do it, but have tons of appreciation for those who did. I look at someone like Tammy Duckworth in awe.
