don't like the taste of crow huh? Can't admit when your wrong... Hmm I wonder if anyone would ever expect anyone to ever admit when they are wrong given an environment where doing so seems to be the unforgivable sin.
Well here's the thing. Facts show you that you are wrong despite any lack of moral fortitude that would demand you own up to your misquote/ignorance or laziness when quoting the bible.
That's good enough for me, any squirming or objection by you of the truth is only icing on the cake for me!

If everyone played by those rules this thread would have ended on the first post, apart from the kibitzing of those not asked.

How about I just laugh at you and wonder about that extraneous "r".

What that means is we are asking on the behalf of Christ not just saying his name. this means we are restricted for the things Christ would want for us to have.
Go tell Him he got it wrong then. He needed a better stenographer. Oh, wait...
No... the takeaway from Drippy's POV must be that Christ "wanted" 30-some people to die, 600,000 to be without power and millions of others to have their homes ruined by massive amounts of water. Therefore, Florence was allowed to continue on her merry way of death and destruction.

no Jesus and the stenographer got it right... that is how I was able to correct the misquote.
13 And if you ask for anything in my name, I will do it for you. Then the Father’s glory will be shown through the Son. 14 If you ask me for anything in my name, I will do it.

DESPITE what you may believe personally, your thread was based on a mis quote.
you wrote:
Quote:It says in the Bible that whatever you pray for, if you're a good Christian, it will be granted to you.
Again despite what you think about God... YOU SAID "IT Says In The Bible..." Again God aside, by your own hand... You said it says in the bible, now again you did not reference God you referenced the bible. The bible is an actual physical publication available on line and in print. So using those resources I showed you, "It doesn't say in the bible." bold mine.

Prayer is such a bizarre concept. One must make a distinction between prayers which are intended to make some sort of difference, and those which aren't. Both cases are strange to me.
If you expect it to make a difference, that means you're advising God on how better to implement his plan than how he was going to do it, and that he agrees with your improvement.
If you don't expect it to make a difference, you may as well just say, "I hope this happens..." like any atheist would do. It's an attempt to make someone else, or yourself, feel better or feel cared about. Otherwise, you're saying, "Please do whatever you were going to do anyway". That's rather a pointless statement. It's doubly strange, because it means you won't actually be happy if god's plan doesn't agree with what you want to happen.
If in fact God has always had a plan and always follows it regardless of prayer, then you're just cheerleading, and anything you have to say about potential outcomes is irrelevant.

"God has a plan. But I can get him to change it." Yeah, prayer works like that.

Lol right.
Imagine someone saying to you, "If you were planning to take the bus today, then take the bus. If you weren't, then don't."
Is that a request for change, or for things to stay the same? Clearly it's the latter, but prayers seem to often be structured that way, and are somehow meant to be the former.

Prayer is actually people criticizing God's running of the Universe because it doesn't benefit them enough. His Plan was set at the beginning of Time but it didn't take into account how amazing the new Corvettes are.

I've always seen it like this:
"Can you stop being a cunt for five minutes?"
