Should Puerto Rico be made a state? Why or why not?

I can't think of a reason why not, especially if they have a completely legitimate vote for statehood. The 2017 one was boycotted by people opposed to statehood and had basically no turnout. So with a legit referendum, there is no reason not to.

Well, other than changing the flag. 51 states just doesn't have the same ring to it.

It'll bring us one step closer to annexing Canada.
