I do what I can to help the area deer. I find out where two of my colleagues plan to hunt and leak the details to the head buck, so the deer can congregate near those places. These guys couldn't hit a deer at ten paces with shotguns. Rifles at a distance? Forget it.

I'm not sure what state you are from, but in Wyoming, hunters like a little suffering with their hunting. It makes the meat taste better. I definitely don't know anyone with a carpeted deer blind!Michigan. If you were out here you wouldn't be waiting for days to see a deer. There are huge bucks that wander through town. Rifles at a distance? Forget it. The shot I made 2 years ago made me proud. Offhand, drawing off the bench, and dropping an 8 point at 25 yards with a revolver - all in under 2 seconds. He never got up. My ears rang more than usual. A 480 Ruger in a small room is LOUD!!
Back in the '90s I was conducting a range officer training course and three mule deer walked through the range. It was at a BSA camp, where the Scouts shoot targets at 50 feet. Those deer were less than 30 feet away. I could have dropped one easily with my pistol (.357), but I called a "cease fire" and let them walk through the range.
If you get to thinking you’re a person of some influence, try ordering somebody else’s dog around.

The guys from our office borrowed the range at Elmendorf AFB, and were merrily blazing away at the shotgun pop-ups in full auto (the zoomies were pissed) when a moose casually walked out onto the range. There was a lull in gunfire - and our executive officer bellowed - "Don't even THINK about it!!!!!" Heh... Those were the days... I turned a whole herd of deer into a fine red mist with 25mm HE, on a live fire range, once upon a time. Expensive hunting party, national park. The deer were protected, lol.
(calm down animal lovers..I felt super bad about it - I had to bum smokes and cop drinks for three months )
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!
