Shooting in Southern California

It never failed to amaze ( and scare the bejesus out of me) watching newbies trying to rapid fire - and how quickly their points of impact rise well above the target. My own experience with full auto taught me that it's harder to shoot accurately in full auto than semi.. Again, the more rounds the more the impacts go high and right. Aiming is far more efficient.1 RE: Shooting in Southern California

You tilt those little hookers out and hold one hand -over- the foregaurd and just...ratatatatatatatatatatata-clink. Then reload, unless you're under fire, at which point you return with your loaded pistol while seeking cover. If mass shooters picked the right equipment for what they wanted to do, it could only get worse. The only point I can see to a rifle is shooting at folks across a field or in a parking lot from a distance, in single fire. It's appalling that most of the "prep" these folks do is just to get a big pile of guns, rather than the right guns. OTOH, we're dodging that bullet, at present..so that's nice.

True to a point - it depends on the SMG. ( note to the uninitiated - SMG means sub- machine gun. It is a carbine to rifle sized weapon chambered in pistol cartridges. It differs from machine guns in that MG uses rifle cartridges which are higher powered than pistol cartridges used in the SMG) An UZI ot Thompson is fairly controllable - as the weight of the weapon keeps the felt recoil down. Not so with more concealable guns such as the Sten or Mac10 - which have substantial recoil due to their lighter weight.
Uzi'a fun for littler girls to handle, just ask the dead instructor who thought it was a good idea at "Bulllets and Burgers".

I'm surprised that we don't see more hk mp's in mass shootings. Seems like it's exactly the sort of firearm an informed mass shooter is looking for. I'd be willing to bet that the average mass shooter, regardless of their level of familiarity or training, could be more effective with an mp than an ar.
They just don't buck when you get heavy on the trigger. I get that the reason, to an extent, is the price tag. You can get a cheap (and brand new) ar-style for what, 4-5 hundo? You're out 25 for a decent smg. Most angry teens don't have that kind of scratch laying around, but most angry teens get their shit from their militia nutball uncles arsenal....and why doesn't -he- have the right guns for the revolt he's sure is right around the corner? Honestly, my savage humpback is a better firearm than an ar 15, if you're looking to clear rooms in a building. Cheap as chips...evades every mass shooting inspired gun regulation......and, bonus, you could take down the godamned patrol helicopter with it.

I have only one Savage shotgun - which I inherited from my great uncle.
A model 94 - not to be confused with the Winchester. It' s a featherweight 12 gauge single break action - with a hard plastic buttplate. Even with light trap loads it' s recoil is brutal. A slug? Fahgeddaboutit.... But yes - in the hands of an experienced shooter - a pump or autoloading shotgun, and a bird hunter's vest loaded down with buckshot would be devastating at close range. Fortunately, most of the monsters who do mass shootings like big black scary rifles - and the death tolls are not as high as they might be. High and right is just another name for a headshot if you're shooting for the stomach in a crowd. Or, really, if you have any elevation at all.
In fairness, that cat out in vegas could have done alot more damage if he'd been more accurate. 1,100 rounds from the 32nd floor and only scores 58 kia in the unarmed crowd below? 851 injured though, so..you know...worth an iron cross but probably not gonna get a laurel wreathe.
