Boru

I read back when the volcano blew, it spit out a bunch of ash and CO2, which was terrible for the environment, but the amount of emissions from jet fuel saved from the lack of air travel far outweighed that from the volcano.

I'd imagine the amount of people that Genghis Kahn killed ended up being pretty good for the environment, too.

That’ll work. Two for you.

RE: Annoying Trivia Quiz
This feels like an elaborate set-up but I'll walk in and play; I have nothing better to do at the moment. I'll do it without looking at the other responses.

1. Invented in 1937, this item nearly failed to catch on because men found it emasculating and women found it demeaning. The item is now ubiquitous, found by the thousands in every city and town in most of the world. What is it? Automobile seatbelts

2. What is the chief historical flaw in Monty Python's 'Spanish Inquisition' sketch? Don't know, I haven't watched this sketch since the 1980s.

3. How long did it take Churchill to escape after he was captured by the Nazis in WWII? False.

4. Based solely on the way he is dressed, what is this man's profession? The guy at the supermarket who wouldn't let me take a second free sample of chocolate cake on Saturday.

5. Apart from being in the entertainment field, what do Jayne Mansfield, Kermit the Frog, Tim Burton and the cast of Dad's Army have in common? They all speak English.

6. Name three 20th century authors who died on the same date (same month, day and year). Don't know.

7. Who was the last British monarch to be murdered? I'm not sure any have been murdered.

8. How far can you go on one cup of coffee (no cream, no sugar)? By foot - anywhere. By car - nowhere.

9. What is the relationship between the chemical compound oxyphenylbutazone and the number 1178? What's oxyphenylbutazone? Looks like both were pulled out of your ass so they probably both stink.

10. What is the environmental connection between Eyjafjallajökull and Mongol conqueror Genghis Khan? None.

3. Jack Churchill was captured in Sept 1944 and released in April 1945, so 7 months?
"There remain four irreducible objections to religious faith: that it wholly misrepresents the origins of man and the cosmos, that because of this original error it manages to combine the maximum servility with the maximum of solipsism, that it is both the result and the cause of dangerous sexual repression, and that it is ultimately grounded on wish-thinking." ~Christopher Hitchens, god is not Great

Well, he escaped in '44, but was recaptured.  Half point for you and half for Val (she brought up Mad Jack first).

I 'splain nothing, Ricky.  It was a valid question.  Not my lookout if people assume the wrong Churchill.
