If your Christian name is the name of a saint, you’re expected to do some small observance in honour of the saint on their feast day.
Luckily for me, St. Patrick was the patron saint of Vomiting and General Douchebaggery.

I knew there was a saint with my name so I looked it up.
St Rebecca: Patron Saint of Sick People and killing parents (or something like that). Venerated 17th December.
Looks like I'll be making orphans that day.

Over the years, I've more than done my part to honor the esteemed gentleman for whom we were both named.
It got to the point where I began to wish my folks had named me Alvin or something.
Then I figured out that it wasn't really a requirement that I wipe out the bar's entire stock of Bushmills in a sitting.

I like my name, but my parents were Irish republicans and saddled me with the archaic Gaelic spelling - Padruig. I generally just introduce myself as ‘Pat’.

Do you get the day off work, paid? The answer is important to how I feel about them.
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

Any day that I might get free stuff is a day I like. Whether it's because someone named me after a saint or not. If I'm not getting presents or a party or anything, then I wouldn't care.
