When you're done, let me know what your conclusion is to what they get out of it psychologically, because I can't figure out what the benefit is to them.

Barboft Wrote:Do you atheists have any rules about what you can or can't do?

I do. For example, I can't fire a gun with any semblance of hope that I will hit my target.

Barboft Wrote:So you're allowed to do pretty much anything you like. Doesn't that lead to chaos?

It is held in check by the fact that anyone else can do pretty much anything they like... so order arises very quickly from the chaos.

Quote:So you're letting yourselves be ruled purely by your own whims. Prisons are full of people who live that way.

Actually, prisons are full of people that are just trying to get by, or that believe what they did was just.

People like me are the ones you have to watch out for... might save your life... might steal your car.

Quote:No rules at all? How do you expect to lead good lives without at least some rules about your conduct?

We all have rules, just probably not all the same ones.

I don't expect to lead a good life, but I expect myself to do good things with my life Smile

Big,yes. Hard ,no; the spine is a bit brittle. (really;osteoporosis)

It's perfectly OK, I've had my hug for today. I saw my girlfriend off at the airport, and we shared an enveloping hug. She still lives in Queensland for the nonce, about 2200 miles from here. Won't see her again for about 3 months. Not happy.

Tomorrow I get FIVE hugs;Ill be taking mum shopping for a flat screen TV. ---I'll get two hugs from mum,and three from sis; an extra one for taking mum shopping.

I'll take a raincheck; from Thursday on would be just dandy.

I'm off top watch S1E9 of 'True Blood' followed by the last S4 episode of Dexter. I understand his annoying twat of a wife gets killed.

Ryft:thank you,I can never have too many hugs.Tiger

I'm bad, I'm a bad boy who needs to be taught a lesson. Wink

I swear some car beeped at me when I was walking towards the town centre today. Happened a few times before. Not sure who they are but it's either Katie or it could be Jess. Not sure.
Only occasionally I hear someone say "Hey Ace!". It always bugs me when I don't know who it is.
Stops hidings!

Anyway, back to important things like hugs! Big Grin
Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence - Carl Sagan

Mankind's intelligence walks hand in hand with it's stupidity.

Being an atheist says nothing about your overall intelligence, it just means you don't believe in god. Atheists can be as bright as any scientist and as stupid as any creationist.

You never really know just how stupid someone is, until you've argued with them.

Atheists can do anything except believe in god(s). If they become convinced that God exists (i.e: If they come to believe that God exists) then the atheist(s) in question is no longer an atheist.

Also Pad - excellent choice in TV shows. Well, the True Blood part...I've yet to sit down to Dexter. Nothing like vampire porn. Big Grin

Ace - the problem is....you ENJOY all your punishments!

Ryft - When you said you were changing your avatar, I thought it would be to one of your ACTUAL face... Sad
