They didn't tell anyone what to think.  They didn't tell anyone where to go or not go.  They didn't tell anyone what to do or how to behave or how to spend their money or anything else.  They told the town that government promotion of a religious excursion was a violation of the establishment clause in your constitution.  And sorry, it wasn't just a 'field trip'.  Ham himself has been completely honest that the nature of these attractions is religious.  Your government isn't allowed to promote religion.  Look it up.

No, it's a wacko atheist cult bothering people to promote their stupidity.

Again, I know it's not all atheists, but get sick of the ones that are always trying to inject their beliefs into everybody else's business.  If they don't want to go, then nobody should make them.  If people want to go, then they should mind their own business and let those people think for themselves and choose.

No they are not, you know nothing about them.

Why was the city government promoting a *religious* outing? That is what is illegal, not private citizens deciding to go to a non-sense theme park.

The people were promoting it.  It's not the business of the government to interfere.  It's an action of the people.  There are people in the government, if those people choose to do something, then let them choose.  That's what's known as freedom.

The government isn't supposed to be a power "over" the people, it's supposed to be a power "of" the people.

People >/= Government

not

Government > People

The government is not there to tell them they have to go, but the government should ensure they are free to go if they choose.

They ARE free to go if they choose.  No one is stopping them.  The issue isn't whether people can take a religious holiday - of course they can, they have a constitutionally protected right to do so.  The government DOES ensure that they are free to go if they choose.

It isn't about the park and the museum.  It isn't about Ken Ham being a world-class dimwit.  It isn't about the right of people to go to these attractions.  It's about a local government violating the establishment clause.  That's all.

I don't hate them or anybody else.

If you don't know the difference between "disagreement" and "hate", or even "love" then maybe go rethink your life.

I disagree with my family sometimes, but it doesn't mean I don't love them.  The two ideas can exist in harmony.

Regardless, it was a wacko cult.  I don't agree with them getting into other people's business, but I don't hate them either.  Actually quite the opposite.  I have love for them, but hope they will stay out of other people's business.  Why?  Not because I hate them, but it's because it's annoying and people can think for themselves without some nuts telling them what they can and can't think.  If a person wants to go to a museum, then let them go.  If you don't want to go, then don't go.  Why should their "wants" be overturned because a group of brainwashed nuts wants to control them?

It's not violating anything.   It's nuts claiming it does.  If people want to go, they have the right to go.    Now if they demanded you go, then there would be a problem if you don't want to go, but those people clearly were interested in going.  Makes no difference if it was a museum or an atheist church.

I hate to lecture people about their own countries, but you have a constitutional amendment a HUGE amount of case law prohibiting just this sort of thing.

You understand that people can still go to the museum, right?

I don't understand that comment. Can you be clearer?
