Not a good idea to let others decide on what you will or will not believe. You have asked THE question. It's up to you to decide. Nobody can decide for you, because nobody actually knows for a fact.
No counselor worth their salt would try to convince one way or the other that there is or isn't a heaven. They would simply help you deal with the emotional trauma that stems from said delusions. Whether or not they think heaven isn't real, they'll certainly tell you that heaven isn't real for you right now but rather a construct in your mind you've created that is giving you anxiety. Not an actual place/thing/situation you're dealing with in the here and now.
That some shitty therapists might have a religious agenda says almost nothing about psychology as a whole.
Dealing with a therapist when it comes to extreme anxiety/paranoia/delusions is always the best route. If you're uncomfortable with a certain therapist, get a new one.
If you're frightened of dying, and you're holding on, you'll see devils tearing your life away. But if you've made your peace, then the devils are really angels, freeing you from the Earth.

That's the crux, right? Doesn;t matter whether or not there's a heaven or a hell..the op has indicated things that bother him/her in this life, and they're valid here regardless of whether they mean shit elsewhere.
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. "No counselor worth their salt would try to convince one way or the other that there is or isn't a heaven. "
That depends.
The key is 'worth their salt' Here we have a Christian Telephone counselling service called "Living Hope" That's exactly the kind of thing they would do,. I learned about them from a couple of their ex clients. Eg "you're a Christian aren't you? How can you possibly be depressed" They would not suggest abortion as an option to say a pregnant teen.
Having been a telephone counsellor, I agree that a good telephone counsellor is non directive. That is not the case with psychologists and psychiatrists; such counselling tends to be directive.. EG They will challenge delusional beliefs. In our friend's case, they would try to discover the underlying cause of the fear.
My current psychiatrist challenged my atheism, very briefly, very lightly in the early stages of my treatment.. My perception was and is that she thought some kind of spiritual belief would be of therapeutic value. She in no way suggested any specific beliefs. Nor has he treatment been tinged with obvious Christian beliefs.
Over the years, I have seen a 'goodly number' of shrinks and psychologists. Have been seeing my current psychiatrist for five years. These day it is every few months, for 'maintenance'.

I was raised Christian but don’t believe in god anymore. I think it’s all nonsense. We’re on this pale blue dot alone. I believe in science and reason.
The problem is my atheism is only at 99%. There’s 1% of me that still thinks I could be wrong and that I’m going to hell for being a bad person. I’m also afraid of the idea of endless life, mostly because I struggle with anxiety and the idea of eternal anxiety in heaven is my idea of hell.
Can anyone help me unhinge the last 1% so that I’m not afraid of heaven and hell anymore? It would mean the world to me. I’d like to not have this hang over me for the rest of my life.

Anyone that claims the sufficiency of the cross has no reason to fear their eternal destiny. One of the best things about being a citizen of the new creation is possessing free will without even the possibility of sinning.

If it is impossible for you to sin how can you have free will?
"There ought to be a term that would designate those who actually follow the teachings of Jesus, since the word 'Christian' has been largely divorced from those teachings, and so polluted by fundamentalists that it has come to connote their polar opposite: intolerance, vindictive hatred, and bigotry." -- Philip Stater, Huffington Post

If kissing the ring is all that matters, what's the point of moralizing and who cares whether or not you have free will?

What a BS question. "Sin" is a mere theological fantasy. A method of control over the masses invented by those cross-dressing perverts.

It is a bit odd. I can't breathe underwater, either..but that doesn't indicate one way or another whether I have free will anymore than my ability or inability to sin would.

Change the definition of sin.
Being told you're delusional does not necessarily mean you're mental.
