I thought reverse racism was for the left-handed racists...

Ok first of all it’s fresa, and it literally translates to strawberry. The terms fresa and boujee are a silly way of calling someone fancy. If you think calling someone fancy compares to using a racial slur somehow...there’s no hope for you.
Not allowing someone to spoil a fun chat room with racial slurs is somehow reverse racism. That’s the most stupid thing I’ve heard in a while.
Do you think that Steelcurtain's privileges from slack would have been removed if he had used the same expression? And I disagree with you on it being a racial slur in this context. If a black person says to a homie, "Whassup, nigger?" then it is an affectionate use of the term, similar to as if a homosexual man were to use the terms homo or faggot. That I was removed seems to have more to do with the fact that I am not black, and that it might have been excused if a black person, such as Steelcurtain, were to use it. That you are so insensitive to the differences in usage and how it is used in black culture seems to make you the insensitive one who is applying her milquetoast, whitebread and politically correct sensibilities in a broad and indiscriminating manner instead of dealing with the specifics of the langauge in question and how it relates to race. That itself is a form of racism, as you are acting on a stereotype of the intentions and permissibility of a behavior which, depending upon the context, may be perfectly innocuous. That makes your attitudes on the question a case of an equal insensitivity to matters of race and language. I guess by your standards then, there's no hope for you. It was a mention and an example of the use of nigger that should not be considered offensive, and while I wasn't extremely conscious of it at the time, in addition to being a humorous rejoinder, that is the point, that the use of the word nigger is not automatically an offensive racial slur. That you appear to endorse my banning because you disagree with me on that question, and appear to have some feelings toward me based upon you're simply assuming you are right, appears to be an example of the questionable grounds of excision from slack that have been employed. That someone can be removed from slack for a difference of opinion is ridiculous. Moreover, your overall tone in this thread seems to suggest that you simply don't like me, a vibe I've picked up from you on more than one occasion. Is that not the case?

Lol I like how you suddenly abandoned your issues with the words fresa and boujee (or however tf you spell that) after it was pointed out to you that it has fuck all to do with race.
Also “woe is me, for the ever so privileged black person gets to use a word that I cannot use” 😭😭
It’s so racist that they get to take back a word that was used against them and I don’t get to use it for my stupid fucking jokes. 🙄

Oh and just to add, I am pretty certain that Steel is perfectly capable of being a fair and sensible person. Like was said about the forum previously, we aren’t allowing the word to be used here because it violates the prime directive, regardless of the race of the person who uses it.

I haven't "abandoned" any thing. As a person who doesn't speak Spanish, how was I supposed to interpret those uses in slack as anything more than an affectionate use of a slur? And you still haven't really explained how they are different. Both are meant to put the person down, but in usage within a specific context, they do not have that connotation. Explain how my use of the word nigger is any different.
And you're confirming my suspicion, that my banning and the justification for it is based upon a difference in politics, rather than any actual offense.

I'm gay. I don't care who uses the equivalent to the cigarette smoking word because words only have power if one allows them to have power.
Besides, if black people have reclaimed the word to empower themselves, shouldn't they not be worried about it's usage outside of their practice? Wouldn't complaining about other people using it defeat the purpose of reclaiming it?

Do you interpret all foreign language words as slurs? Wtf. I’ve literally never seen anyone use the word fresa to put someone down. My favorite use of the word boujee is when this guy talks about how he’d like to use fancy cheese on his Mac and cheese. Wut? I don’t need to explain how this is different from a racial slur. Lol. It doesn’t need an explanation.

I wasn't aware that the use of the word nigger was banned on the forum as a whole. I guess my mention of the term here then constitutes a bannable offense. Is that what you are saying, Losty, that you think that I have now violated the prime directive and can justifiably be banned? That seems a rather ridiculous position to take.
As to Steelcurtain, yes he is entirely capable of being fair and sensible. In my experience though, this is not always the case, and sometimes he is something of an asshole. I like Steelcurtain a lot, and he is well liked by many members of the forum. I perhaps incorrectly assumed the same applied to me, but it appears that for whatever reason, you don't like me. Regardless the question is not is Steelcurtain capable of being fair and sensible, but rather was he being fair and sensible in this particular instance. With respect to that question, your comment is a non sequitur.
And could you please point me to where it has been announced that any use of the word nigger is not allowed on the forum. I've not been as active of late and have apparently missed this announcement.

No i don’t think we ban people without giving them warnings.
“I like Steel Curtain, he’s an asshole” 😂🧐
It’s a violation of the prime directive.

Quote:The word fresa is somewhat pejorative outside the fresa circles. Being called a fresa, for example, in a punk subculture could be considered an insult, as many of the people in other subcultures absolutely abhor fresas, and use the term as an insult.
Wikipedia || Fresa
You seem to be confirming my point that terms like fresa and bujee are a parallel to my use of the word nigger, in spite of your apparently cockamamy view that it isn't, and that you don't need to justify your opinion, because, well, you're Losty, and what Losty says is law.

This is a complete misrepresentation and misquote of what I said, and your using quotation marks to imply that I said any such thing is an egregious misquote and has been reported as such.
(And you didn't answer my question as to whether any use of the word nigger can, though may not, result in the person being banned.)
