I see them as missing something, common sense.

The dude was doing it right. He was locked to that tower continuously.

Now confined spaces... Panic

If I remember correctly, you've got a damned good reason to not like confined spaces.

I was assigned to the port shaft alley during sea and anchor detail when I was on the Oriskany. 8 decks down from the weather deck, IIRC. That was the passageway where you had to go by the Marines who were protecting the alleged nukes. One time I had the flu and the attendant muscle aches, cramping and diarrhea. That made for a real pleasant stay in that hole. I don't miss it at all.

Where Cubans come from?

Or is that Miami?

Hard to say. The people on the island may be closely related to the native people who were frogmarched out to someplace really cold.

There isn't enough money.

I disagree. How much do they get paid? Seems a lot more exciting than a 9-5 office gig.

Some jerkwad that didn't want to go on WestPac dumped the lube oil from one of the spring bearing on Peleliu. We were doing flank speed on the other shaft to keep up with the squadron. Meanwhile me, the MMCS and 5-6 drones were replacing the spring bearing. I was sitting on the shaft, cleaning out the sump, when the pin holding the jacking gear broke. Flung me against the bulkhead. They were ready to evac me when I regained consciousness. I missed the trip up the trunk in a Stokes litter. Mad
