Well, you're a christian and far from believable. Must be a christian thing.

I know everyone is making wise ass remarks but can you logically explain if it were a lie why would they use 2nd class citizens and not just males to find Jesus? How does this fact not prove to you that the whole thing happened? Explain in detail please how this fact isn't full proof.

Just tell me how this doesn't prove the existence, if it's truly logical it has to be right, correct? I need serious responses, why say women found Jesus? It only hurts the story

Being a troll, you don't rate anything more than wise ass remarks.  Razz

Edit: I thought you said you read Bart. Must have just been another troll remark: https://thebestschools.org/special/ehrma...interview/

That interview still doesn't explain why they used women, the fact they did only hurts their cause, proving it's real, right? Why women found Jesus is proof of the resurrection, is this logical? You can't even refute it, if it doesn't make sense then it must be true

Here's a list of extant New Testament manuscripts:

None from the 1st Century, a small fragment from the fist half of the 2nd century and more later that century, but most are in the 3rd century and later.

If you can explain this I will return to being an atheist, does this fact shake your belief? Can you honestly explain why they would do this if it were truly a lie and make it less believable?

LadyforCamus can you explain why they used women to find Jesus when it makes the story less reliable, in Jewish culture they were considered 2nd class citizens so people would be less likely to believe them

Which version? How many women? Read the gospels and they're all conflicting. Why does the gender of the supposed witnesses make any difference? The stories are not reliable end of.

Just because the booble puts women down and then gives them a bit part, why would you think that it has any importance?

So you are saying that women wouldn't be the first to see the body according to the normal practices of the time?

Had the story teller got the normal practices right you would say that that proves it happened  ...  Dodgy

That the story teller got the normal practices wrong you say that that proves it happened ...  Dodgy

You see a problem there?
Religion is the top shelf of the supernatural supermarket ... Madog

Once again you are working BACKWARDS.

Women's rights in ALL of antiquity worldwide were limited. AT BEST only women of royalty had any say, but even then, they were ALWAYS second in line to males.

If you are talking about biblical stories where the female characters fawn over Jesus, NO SHIT. Don't you find it funny that the "Marry" Character is minimally mention at his birth, nothing during the middle of his life, and an "I don't want to lose you" at the end?"

There is a REASON FOR THAT DUMMY! And it has nothing to do with any particular label in antiquity.

It has to do with MEN in all of antiquity of EVERY RELIGION thinking men were better than women, instead of the EVOLUTIONARY reality we know now, in that men are only one attribute of our species.

While the ancient Greeks and Romans had goddesses, it still remains the top GOD of both were always male. And even with Hinduism, it has goddesses, but the top God in that is Brahma, a male God.

Purity motifs in antiquity were born out if ignorance of how the female body worked. Periods are bloody and birth is messy.  Nobody back then, not males or females understood that both sexes were equal in evolution. Men confused brawn as being a better quality, instead of only one quality.

The bible was written by MEN, not women, so of course the female characters they claim said this or that, are going to make the male hero look good.

The bible had Jesus interactions with women which proves it must've been real b/c tradition didn't involve the females, the fact the females found Jesus proves it must've happened and wasn't made up, afterall why would they say women found him?

Brian37 are you saying basically that even though they were 2nd class citizens that it wouldn't mean they were considered to be liars? If so that might make sense, just b/c u don't respect women doesn't mean you think they are liars, i'm not sure this argument is even logical at all.
