A woman has been arrested on suspicion of offending religious sentiment, after posters bearing an image of the Virgin Mary with her halo painted in the colours of the rainbow flag appeared in the city of Płock in central Poland...Offending religious feeling is a crime under the Polish penal code. If convicted, the woman could face a prison sentence of up to two years.

Unfortunately Poland still has a strong church, so some of the laws are still influenced by the church/religion.

Imagine if laws were based on anyone being offended by something, not just the religious.

Yes I was adding to it, because it is important not to get stuck on the short term when it comes to human history. Give any group enough of a majority with no check on it's power, any group can and will do that if given enough power. Even in the west. Even in America. 

No I did not. You stupidly assume because we have western concepts of checks on power, and freedom of speech, that magically defends itself. Participation is why we still have it, not because everyone likes what everyone else says. 

If we had  nothing but Judge Roy Moores on our Supreme Court and a congress of a majority of Pat Robertsons do not tell me that kind of majority wouldn't have us arrested here in America if we did the same thing. THEY WOULD!

PARTICIPATION is the only defense of free speech, not assuming it will always be that way.

They're currently lead by the Pis party, a far right party linked to neo-nazis (yeah, neo-nazis in Poland) whose founders were high level operatives in the Soviet era secret police.
