[Quranic Reflection] Animals are communities like us

RE: [Quranic Reflection] Animals are communities like us
While pigs are smarter than people think, that;s not the reason that your magic book prohibited their consumption.  The explanation for that is source mimicry.
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

Yes you have point regarding the prohibition of swine, there is a verse that I totally forgot about when I mentioned pigs:

Quote:Sura 6, The Quran:

Sahih International

(145) Say, "I do not find within that which was revealed to me [anything] forbidden to one who would eat it unless it be a dead animal or blood spilled out or the flesh of swine - for indeed, it is impure - or it be [that slaughtered in] disobedience, dedicated to other than Allah . But whoever is forced [by necessity], neither desiring [it] nor transgressing [its limit], then indeed, your Lord is Forgiving and Merciful."

Humans are animals. Therefore, it's no surprise that there's a comparison.

Adding more to my comment: the reason pig flesh is impure, is the same reason human flesh is impure too; notice that according to Islamic law human flesh is as impure as swine; human flesh is even more impure: it's wrong to kill a creature with such a level of consciousness either human or animal.

Magic book doesn't appear to rate things by "consciousness".  There are prohibitions against swine and human beings, but there are plenty of animals between people and pigs if we're making some "higher consciousness" scale....and they're all on the menu.

It's telling you "look, a pig, don't eat it!" - not laying out some treatise on the rank of animalia by order of consciousness.

All of this is only made more hilarious by the amount of actual study done into the subject origin. Your magic book says it because someone else's magic book says it, the explanation for their magic book saying it comes down to the authors. Tons of reasons, all of them cultural.

But how do you explain the verse I mentioned in the OP  - Quran 6:38- ??

It is a literal statement from the God of Islam that says animals are communities, just like us humans.

Takes all of five minutes sitting in nowhere to figure that one out. We've understood herding behaviors and bonding since the mesolithic, at least.

-and it's not a statement from your silly god. Those are words crammed into it's mouth by people.

Fair point.  The 'sacred' texts make numerous reference to swine, goats, sheep, and so forth, all of which are communal animals.  More a matter of simple observation that a pronouncement from Allah.

The consciousness is coming from the brain. Disagreeing on its definition does not change its main attribute: "we are here; we exist".

Quote:An ant brain has about 250 000 brain cells. A human brain has 10,000 million so a colony of 40,000 ants has collectively the same size brain as a human.

https://lingolex.com/ants.htm

A single human though has about 10,000 million brain cells while a single ant has 250,000 brain cells only.
I think if something has no brain; they won't have consciousness.

We, humans are having a harder time with the concept of God for example because we have lots of brain cells; so we think more. Animals have lesser number; so they don't bother much like us, to them life is very simple. A lion has no enough brain cells to question your political affiliation before eating you, but a dog might have just enough brain cells to remember your smell and your voice.

So, how many brain cells/neurons/structures does an animal need to have a conscious? Do 302 neurons (roundworm) create a brain and consciousness?

Again, I think you need to narrow your definition of animal and define brain/consciousness.
I don't have an anger problem, I have an idiot problem.
