No more “lead us not into temptation”

No more “lead us not into temptation”
Pope removes “lead us not into temptation” from the Lord's Prayer. “The one who leads you into temptation is Satan,” he said. God created Satan, so, basically, God subcontracted all the “lead you into temptation” business out to Satan. Glory!

So the Bible is still being corrected. Jesus, who died for a weekend for our sins, apparently misunderstood who was doing the tempting. And it only took the Catholic Church 2000 years to figure it out. What else did the Bible get wrong?

I don't remember who said this, but I agree "I can resist anything, but temptation."

Satan was the scapegoat long before Jesus died for our sins.

Three days, actually.

Jesus sacrificed his LONG weekend for your sins.

Pick and choose the bible -the Christian way.

What of the examples in the bible where God lead christ into the desert to be tempted?

How is this a correction if Christ constructs a prayer that addresses his temptation of sin?

Seems to me the pope does not know or understand the bible.

Seems to me this alteration in scripture is yet another example of this religion taking another step away from the God of the bible.

Maybe they should consider adding the following prayer:

'Oh Lord Most High, Creator of the Cosmos, Spinner of Galaxies, Soul of Electromagnetic Waves, Inhaler and Exhaler of Inconceivable Volumes of Vacuum, Spitter of Fire and Rock, Trifler with Millennia — what could we do for Thee that Thou couldst not do for Thyself one octillion times better? Nothing. What could we do or say that could possibly interest Thee? Nothing. Oh, Mankind, rejoice in the apathy of our Creator, for it makes us free and truthful and dignified at last. No longer can a fool point to a ridiculous accident of good luck and say, 'Somebody up there likes me.' And no longer can a tyrant say, 'God wants this or that to happen, and anyone who doesn't help this or that to happen is against God.' O Lord Most High, what a glorious weapon is Thy Apathy, for we have unsheathed it, have thrust and slashed mightily with it, and the claptrap that has so often enslaved us or driven us into the madhouse lies slain!' - Kurt Vonnegut, Jr, The Sirens of Titan
