I applaud you for that and everyone else here should do likewise. It is hard to reason ones way out of it. FWIW I was born and raised RCC yet here I am as an atheist. That being all said, be aware the various god botherers sneak in on the claim that they have lost their faith. Dishonest? sure. But they still do it
Hello!

I was heavily indoctrinated by my mother, even listening to the tapes of the horrid bible story book. When I was 13, I saw someone die. He was cute, nice, and I had had a crush on him from the second I saw him. It was devastating. I started praying. Then, my JW grandparents found someone to study with me. I should mention I was also homeschooled. So, JWs were my only community. How'd you get out? (June 15, 2019 at 2:17 pm)Athena Wrote: I left the cult way too late in life. But here I am. I'm done with the first phases of becoming an atheist and settled in. Just want to find like-minded people. Nice to meet you. Awesome for you. Nice to shed old mythology and superstition. But one thing, you don't "become" anything. A light switch doesn't become a bathtub, it simply switches positions from "on" to "off" or "off" to "on" while remaining a light switch. It can be a transition sure, but it isn't a transformation. You leave a position like leaving a restaurant. You are not the restaurant itself, you simply eat there and leave. So really you discovered the food was bad and left the joint. Be sure to barbecue kittens, record the NFL without their permission and rip the tags off of your mattress. Logical reasoning. If you are bothered, I will happily provide a detailed account. It is 40 years ago now.I have no regrets.
Welcome, Athena! I look forward to reading about your experiences that led you to leave the JW cult.

Was there ever an urge to convert to mormon? (knock, knock)
Being told you're delusional does not necessarily mean you're mental.

If I did have to, it would have only been for a couple years. It's a life sentence for JWs. Though, not sure whether it's worse to not have caffeine or not have blood transfusions. I've never needed a blood transfusion, but I sure as hell need caffeine.
