Yeah we're fooked if Brexit ever happens... Then we'll be hoping to deal with Donald on his terms. And everyone else on their terms.

Seems like for most of us, 'nutshell' is the appropriate receptacle.

Donald has already indicated the condition for a deal with the US is for Britain to formally give the US veto power over any economic deal with any other nation which Britain might have previously imagined that it, as a sovereign nation, had the empower to negotiate and ratify independently.

Let’s see Scotland stay in the union with this one.

I'd like to quote a passage from Neil Stephenson's cyberpunk novel, Snow Crash:

Quote:This is America. People do whatever the fuck they feel like doing, you
got a problem with that? Because they have a right to. And because they have
guns and no one can fucking stop them. As a result, this country has one of the
worst economies in the world. When it gets down to it -- talking trade balances
here -- once we've brain-drained all our technology into other countries, once
things have evened out, they're making cars in Bolivia and microwave ovens in
Tadzhikistan and selling them here -- once our edge in natural resources has
been made irrelevant by giant Hong Kong ships and dirigibles that can ship North
Dakota all the way to New Zealand for a nickel -- once the Invisible Hand has
taken all those historical inequities and smeared them out into a broad global
layer of what a Pakistani brickmaker would consider to be prosperity -- y'know
what? There's only four things we do better than anyone else
music
movies
microcode (software)
high-speed pizza delivery

By music though, do you mean Eminem or the 13th -16th century renaissance classical composers?

Being an offshore tax haven for US companies with significant EU presence (even more so when the much larger tax haven in London leaves the EU). Having a government which boasts of economic performance while saying it doesn't have the money to fix hospitals, give needed pay rises to necessary staff (while having plenty for politicians and judges) or to build houses to stop the metastizing homeless crisis (despite NAMA still sitting on a huge property portfolio. Having a farming sector gettin attention at c 10 times it's economic importance, and being enouraged in massively environmentally damaging practices (our solution to global warming? Put more cows on the land!).

I could go on but you get the picture.
