Does it have to be an official religion?

Pretty sure I could fake Wicca if I had to, but a friend of mine has a belief system that doesn't suck. She's her own prophet, who delivers word from the goddess. Nobody seems to be willing to accommodate her religious beliefs. Maybe if she had more money/members?
