I don't think anyone actually advocates for open borders. If they do, I'm not sure they understand how an economy works. Or how laws work.

That being said, I always find it funny how much liberals harsh on our immigration policies when other countries are fucking complete pricks about letting other people in. Hell, you can have a completely clean record and solid work history and still get denied citizenship to places like China, Japan, Canada and Norway.

That being said, as a country we handle immigration terribly. Splitting up families and in general treating people like herd animals? It's despicable. Have you ever seen how immigration courts are conducted? It's a complete joke.

It ought to be pretty obvious how shared open borders grant the opportunity to streamline laws and the institutions that enforce them. You have the eu’s open borders to refer to as an example.

Open borders have nothing to do with immigration. Legal or otherwise. Except in that they would make immigration law easier to enforce and remove traffickers human cover from the equation.

Every study/report I've ever read comes to the same conclusion: immigrants and refugees are a net benefit to the economy. Why be in opposition to accepting them?

And no. Illegal immigration amd mass immigration has NEGATIVE effects on economies. This is well documented. If your point is that legal, measured immigration has positive effects. Okay? Im not against legal immigration.
