Reminds me of the Metric System. The USA seems to enjoy things the rest of the world apparently doesn't like! Every country has the own "quirky" traditions and I like that. Of course, I look at sports in the USA and think that they look horribly decadent. But maybe that's just me. Maybe somebody can explain the point of "cheerleaders" to me? If people want to be a cheerleader, fine. But there's a dark-side:
talking about the differences in interests in Sports in Europe and United States and schools: when you think about gym class usually in US if you are tall you get to be picked one of the first but in Europe seems it doesn't matter how tall you are because they play soccer so I guess there little guys have the advantage. am i right?
teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"

There is only one sport played 24/7 around the world.
It's not an easy sport. I've noticed that men and women alike need to drink quite a bit just to build up the courage to participate. It's called Hurling. I've even excelled at it on occasion.

You need to exit from three holes to win gold.
That sounds wrong. I'm talking about mouth and nostrils.
I could not care less about sports. Many sports are just simulated combat performed by people who are, well, afraid to actually engage in physical combat. Certainly, plenty of sports require skill, strategy and a great deal of hard work and maybe some natural talent, if such a thing exists.
I have much more respect and admiration for boxers, kickboxers, MMA fighters, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu practitioners and the like. That being said, handball? What are you in fucking prison lol
If you're frightened of dying, and you're holding on, you'll see devils tearing your life away. But if you've made your peace, then the devils are really angels, freeing you from the Earth.
Don't you think though, that many people who watch physical combat are, well, afraid to actually engage in physical combat. :-)
