Incest can cause serious physical and mental deformities in offspring. Homosexual sex does not. Unless of course those homosexuals have a baby (where one of them actually has intercourse with the opposite sex) and passes on some defective genes of theirs.
But, for the most part, homosexuals can't have babies. That's...uh... sort of how it works. Why is this a topic again?

My point was that, in countries where incest is a punishable offense (most of them, I think), the laws make no distinction whether the incest is homosexual or heterosexual. This kind of makes the 'genetic risk' argument moot. If it applied, then the punishments for heterosexual incest should be more severe.

Well, no, it doesn't make it "moot," as the vast majority of people are heterosexual. It simply means that the genetic risk doesn't factor in if the "offenders" are purely homosexual.

The genetic risk is greatly oversold in the first place. There are many more instances of much greater genetic risk between couples who are legally allowed to have sex, and procreate.

Of course it makes it moot. If a justification for criminalizing incest is the increased risk of birth abnormalities, then homosexual incest should be considered less of a crime than heterosexual incest. It isn't.

Nope. Doesn't make it moot because genetic risk isn't the only factor that makes incest unadvisable on several levels. But keep trying.
Genetic risk is a completely valid reason to avoid and potentially criminalize incest and you haven't proven otherwise.
That'd be like saying
Safety glasses protect your eyes
But in one particular instance of repairing a machine, your eyes are not at risk
