Thank you, I have seemed to be unable to convince certain people here that I'm not advocating the elimination of firearms, just better measures to keep them out of the hands of people that we all agree shouldn't have them.
And, quite frankly, I don't think OLB is a problem as a gun owner. I object to his rationale for having guns, not to his having guns.

Guns, ownership and licensing should come under heavy taxation. Just like we do here with guns and tobacco. The NHS services to the ailments caused by those services should be payed for by the users of such things.
Oh wait, there is no NHS in the US. Nevermind.

In the US gun ownership is a RIGHT - not a privilege.
We don't tax rights.
