A prayer before dinner
#41
RE: A prayer before dinner
When I was a nipper we used to hold hands while sitting at the dinner table and say "a blessing on the meal and peace be on the earth" - which, on balance, was nice. I live alone ATM and often go "ahhhhhhh!" before mouthful number one if the meal is good and exciting/yummy looking.

Maybe you could try yelling spells from Harry Potter after your friend prays in front of you, like:

Wingardium Leviosa

Expecto Patronum

Riddikulus
teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"

Yeah, even Jesus couldn't make that one work, although he tried. But he seems to make the spell Rennervate to work.
