Using indoctrinated children to push an agenda.
When Obama was in office and TEA party was still a thing, I never saw any TEA party protests or events where there is a dearth of children younger than 12 dressed up in revolutionary war costumes and carrying placards with slogans.
The hacks from the same TEA party movement includes Jim Jordan, now ranking republican in house oversight committee, and Mick Malvaney, now white house chief of staff.

The Greta situation is obviously not at all so insidious, if that's even what's happening. I just don't agree with indoctrinating children, regardless of the cause.
If she really did come up with all of this using her own devices, more power to her. If not, shame on the parents. That's all I was getting at.
If you're frightened of dying, and you're holding on, you'll see devils tearing your life away. But if you've made your peace, then the devils are really angels, freeing you from the Earth.

I am a former professional Captain. I received my 50-ton Master license from the U.S. Coast Guard in 1997. It was upgraded to 100-ton in 2007. My license was for near-shore operation. I would have been shitting my pants to sail a small boat solo across the Atlantic because although I never operated off-shore, I know well what is involved. Encountering waves 20' high from crest to trough is not unusual. It's a big, fucking deal.
The weight of her political opinions is unaffected by her daring, true but when a 16-year-old accomplishes that, she definitely earns respect. Few adults with decades of experience would even attempt what she did.

All parents influence their children. We're their formative and most lasting influence. It's not entirely certain at what point parenting isn't an indoctrination. We expect parents to indoctrinate their children, and fault them for failure to do so, both socially and legally.
Like so many other issues in parenting it's a catch 22, because if you succeed at doing the thing we positively expect, and will punish you for failure to do, we'll then fault you for that as well, lol.
