And I heard some comedian say (in regards to three channels) that if the president was giving a speech (here in America at least) you were fucked.

Is there actually evil in the world?
|
It was worse than that, for a period in the 1970s we only had electricty for three days every week.
It was during this period my loathing for monopoly developed. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Three-Day_Week You can fix ignorance, you can't fix stupid. Tinkety Tonk and down with the Nazis.
Sounds like the stories my mother tells of the gas shortages in the 70's here in the states.
We went through a brief period of that in 2008 here in the South when Gustav knocked out some refineries. What a shitshow.
who or what is a 'gustav'?

According to your link it sounds like the Government capping wages & the Coal Miners Union's white strike caused that bit of trouble. Courtesy Lew Black (there's a quote for everything - much like Carlin): "Why the fuck do they name hurricanes? What do you call a tornado? A *tornado*. You get the fucking message. If they're going to name hurricanes, why don't they give it a name that applies? Like "Jesus Christ on a Crutch!" followed by the next big one "Hoooooooooooly Fuckin' Moses!"" "Hurricane Andrew? Why would you name a hurricane Andrew? Did the hurricane show up in a cravat and a dickie saying "Scurry, scurry, Andy's here!"" "...And you know what they called that Hurricane? "Bob." I don't know a lot, I know this: "Bob" is not a hurricane; "Bob" is an insurance salesman. From Topeka, Kansas. You meet Bob when you're stuck in an airport cocktail lounge for two hours, because the airport's been watching the Weather Channel. And you're stuck next to Bob and Bob starts talking about his wife and kids and he buys you some drinks and shows you pictures of the family and you start to think 'Hey, Bob's not a bad guy." and then Bob tries to sell you insurance and you have to say 'Fuck you, Bob!' That is a Bob."
Thanks to the people saying objective evil doesn't exist but subjective evil does.
That's what I was looking for I just wasn't avle to put my question into words. So in other words subjectively speaking, good and evil exist and it just depends on the societal or personal experiences. Am i correct? And objectively its all grey, no matter how bad or good evil or otherwise it may seem. So i'm evil for my beliefs of I dont fraking know till you show me some goddam proof of god. God is an intangible subject and there for "supernatural" there fore, science can't test him and until science can, he dont exist goddamit, for give me. So there you have if a god like creator exists, which i highly doubt, then good and evil do exist. I dont know im rambling, but thanks so objectively no, subjectively yes in trillions of forms.
Actually, if God exists then there IS objective evil because there is a prime mover that is omnicient and therefore KNOWS what is evil. Without God there is only subjective evil.

Quote:Actually, if God exists then there IS objective evil because there is a prime mover that is omnicient and therefore KNOWS what is evil. No. That assumes that there is any "objective evil" for God to know.
Objective evil would have to exist independently of God, as some sort of intrinstic property of the universe. So God's existence doesn't make good and evil objective; it merely grounds them in the desires of a powerful being, which are no more objective than my wishes or anyone else's.
