Thanksgiving and Family
How did you deal with religious family members?

I personally just kept my mouth shut and gritted my teeth

Thanksgiving isn't a thing here. My family learnt long ago that religion isn't ever at my table, they are all religious, but they never mention it in my presence, I wonder why.

I figured that much.my family are devout catholics, the european kind. I made sure to bring hell anytime they brought religion in our meetings. Its family, not imaginary friends, real people. They had to bow and respect that, like I respect their belief.

We're all "Catholics", here. My two eldest sons and I are atheists. The youngest son I haven't verified, but I think that he is too. My wife is a believer. That said, I haven't set foot in a church but maybe 5 times in the last 15 years, and then only for marrying and burying. We don't pray or discuss the bible in our house.
If you get to thinking you’re a person of some influence, try ordering somebody else’s dog around.

The local priest asked about my daughter being baptized, I told him my idea is to give her the decision. I never chose to be saved, but I was age 1, i guess. Damnit, I will be in heaven while you have all the funsies and NSFW stuff. Big Grin

We learned not to talk religion or politics. Still plenty of other ways to piss people off.

All of my religious family members are 10 000 - 12 000 miles away.  I'm good.

I stuff them full of turkey and other tasty morsels. So much so, there are little edgewise words.
