Man, you don’t even know what the definition of atheism is. I’ve never seen anyone fail so hard.

It's dead easy to equate evolution and atheism when you don't understand either one.

So someone here has admitted that beneficial mutations are selected for. But guess what? Those mutations are 100% random and are the ENGINE of evolution. No two ways about it. With the randomness (luck) of a series of just the right mutations, you’re winning an impossible numbers game. I wonder how Many lucky mutations it took to get the owls eyes on the butterfly? Lol

Well, we might want to reserve judgement on how lucky they are - in case those choice wings end up being exactly the sort of thing that some predator eventually needles in on.

At which point their owl eye defense is a flashing neon dinner sign.

Meanwhile, have you ever stopped to consider why you..a person who believes that nature somehow proves god, are allergic to being happy to have been wrong, allergic to the realization that nature (and..presumably, therefore god) is bigger than you thought it was. That it can do things you thought it couldn't? Did god touch the wings of every single moth with an eye pattern? No, ofc not, that would be phenomenally incompetent - biology does that without any need for tinkering - and if this is some grand design...well..that's a better design than the one which needs the cosmic greasemonkey perpetually yanking levers and tightening bolts.

But go ahead, tell me how your god is a retarded fuckup who couldn't possibly have made a self regulating or self improving system..again.

You don't really grasp how selection works, do you?

RE: By chance?
As someone upstream pointed out, the analogy would be better served as mutation being the fuel of biological evolution while natural selection is the engine that turns it into motion and direction (towards greater reproductive fitness in a specific environment).

Any mutation on the wings of a species of butterfly will be conserved and spread if it results in the butterflies that have them reproducing more. A spot that might be an eye would make a slight difference, and a slight difference is enough over time. Any further mutations that make the spots look more eye-like would be conserved. Since the Owl Butterflies are large and only fly very short distances at a time, they're easy for predators to spot and track. They prefer to fly in dusk, when birds that might prey on them are less active, but owls are likely to be about. Other butterflies have 'eyespots' on their wings, but it's easy to see why this particular species would be under selection pressures that favored particularly large ones, with a yellow ring around the dark portion. Some number of predators will back off seeing those. It may have taken thousand of generations for this trait to develop in Owl Butterflies, if they have four generations per year like Monarchs; if it took 10,000 generations, that would be about 2,500 years.

RE: By chance?
The short version of the above is that animals who live to do more fucking end up having more children. Remember that this...this...is what you're objecting to when you post next, Yukon.

Gods truth, as it were..at least to you, depends on this..being false.........

As an aside, the genetics for eyespot patterns already existed in the population, it wasn't a new mutation, chance or otherwise. Even people with a better understanding of biology than that the creationists express sometimes labor under the misapprehension that life somehow evolves -to face challenges-...but it doesn't. The challenge presents itself, and there is either a solution...or the lineage dies out. Evolutionary biology doesn't wait for an obstacle to present itself..it jumps through hoops even when there are no hoops present.

It throws every dart in barrel full of darts at the wall. Some stick, most don't.

It isn't directly on account of eyespots becoming more prevalent in the population that this particular lineage is successful, ultimately, it's on account of the dearth of things that eat owls. The very thing that offers some defense, some semblance of deterance...also signifies to foxes, squirrels, eagles, and wild cats that food is present. At least some of these animals would leave the insects alone if they didn't have this pattern..but since they do, they don't.

Scaring off a bat and drawing in a couger isn't what I'd call a competent design decision. How about you?

How did god put owl’s eyes on a butterfly? I just can’t imagine how he could have done that, therefore intelligent design is false.

What this boils down to is that despite having evolution explained to you, you still don't have even a young childs grasp on it.

I hope you are being wilfully ignorant because if you are really not getting it at this stage then you would be just very very dumb.
