For my money, the most horrific, terror-inducing, scene in all of television science fiction is this.  WARNING:  Do not look if you've recently eaten:

Imagine netflix or starz getting their hands on the IP.

A Netflix TOS reboot would essentially be pron. Wall to wall alien tits.
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

As far as I reckon, i have seen worse from age 8. Slugs, saw that one? The Blob, etc.

I found those movies cool. Today not so much, we can spot film errors lel.

Star Trek rarely does anything like this but when they do, they don't mess around. Even the original series had some really creepy stuff and there was an episode of The Next Generation (Conspiracy) that featured someone's head exploding. This latest one though, was seriously over the top.

Anyone familiar with Star Trek is familiar with the Borg. Sometimes, Borg drones are separated from the collective and regain their individuality. These individuals may still contain Borg implants in their bodies - very valuable things. The technology is super-advanced so unscrupulous individuals might have no problems with harvesting these implants from former drones for profit.

Imagine somebody using power tools to cut a former drone open - while the person is still alive and conscious. Drill into their skull, pluck out their eye. Vivisection. Well, watch the fifth episode of Picard and you won't have to imagine it.

Is it just me or is this way over the line? I don"t think even an R-rating covers this. Yet it's on TV with no warning at all of graphic scenes.

Meh, that is nothing, I have posted ABBA videos on this page without warning.

In all seriousness, a long time ago  back in the 80s, there was a short lived cop show that depicted a sexual assault scene where the guy reached down a woman's shirt. And that same serious, they had a sniper blow a guy's head off.

Nothing about media today surprises me.

Well that isn't against the forum rules, but you could use hide tags Big Grin

I mean, I have seen a lot of gore both RL and movies but when you post an ABBA video, here is my reaction:

Correct. Tits and dragons and alien white walkers is the most popular and profit making show in history.
4 year olds will be watching reruns in 20 years and not battering an eyelid...

While the adults will be living the experience via VR then...

Not that I wish to blow a dwarf or anything.... Maybe Beccs might?

Why would I want to blow you, Iggy?

I don't think you'd be up for it...
