Two preprint studies released on Saturday offer additional evidence that the coronavirus pandemic started at a market in Wuhan, China.

By analyzing data from several sources, scientists concluded that the virus came from animals and spread to humans in late 2019 at the Huanan Seafood Market. They added that no evidence supported a theory that the virus came from a laboratory in Wuhan.

"When you look at all the evidence together, it's an extraordinarily clear picture that the pandemic started at the Huanan market," Michael Worobey, a co-author on both studies and an evolutionary biologist at the University of Arizona, told The New York Times .

 My question is why are they making people wear a mask but not requiring vaccines for everyone.

According to a nurse with whom I work, employees don't wear masks at one of the hospitals in the area.

The walk-in clinic I visited this morning didn't require masks. Vaccine posters up all over the place, so I'm assuming at least the staff is vaccinated. Out of ten people who walked in, only one wore a mask. Even I have to admit, at a certain point we just need to forego with the masks.

I went over to my medical provider's facility to pick up some drugs, and skated right into the walk-up Covid booster group. Four or five LVNs just waiting to jab people! Sweet; I got my second booster with no more wait than filling out the form. Good thing, too, because my prescriptions weren't ready.    I went back a day later after the light switch debacle and got them. Light switch debacle? Glad you asked. Our rental house, one of the bathroom light switches failed. Don't know when, but one of the renters asked if we could replace the switch, since one of the other people are unscrewing the light bulbs to get the dark back. Replaced the switch, piece of cake. "Oh, yeah, the lights in the other bathroom kind of flicker, and sometimes don't work. It's been that way since we moved in." Six fucking years, and NOW they bring it up? I went up and bought another switch, installed it, didn't work. Had to go home and feed the dogs; the timing sucked. 40 extra miles of driving to install another new switch. Then, "Oh, yeah, I can't find the reset button on the garbage disposal." Reset the garbage disposal, it's locked up. I went there for one light switch. I'm getting a plumber for the disposal, I ain't dealing with it.

Called my sister this morning to wish her a happy Mother's Day before dashing out to breakfast with my oldest. She had a terrible cough...I asked, and yes, she does have COVID, but she thought it was a cold and once it dropped into her chest it was too late to take the meds. She has asthma, so it's not a good thing.

She has been so careful from the beginning. Can't believe she has it now.
