[Quranic Reflection]: There shall be no compulsion in the acceptance of religion

RE: [Quranic Reflection]: There shall be no compulsion in the acceptance of religion
Taxes are the least of the unfaithful's worries. Magic book isn't exactly known for it's sunny disposition towards the infidel.

It's use as pretext for religious oppression is a feature - not a bug.
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

I care about what God himself said in this regard.

You tried to call me stupid for asking about what really happened, in islam, for most of the time.

Do you deny that extra taxes were levied?

Your answer: "I dont care"
You pretty much know the answer to my question do you? You just refuse to talk about the topic, because it makes you look ignorant and dishonest. Yet you have been exposed as a liar already, since it is true that an extra tax existed, and i was correct in claiming it existed. So, no Disneys Aladdin, rather you being engaged in copying Pinocchio.

You insisting on "what god said" and refusal to engage in me presenting facts about islam, that speaks for itself, and your pathetic personality.
I will spare you the verses where your god indeed asked to levy a tax from jewss and christians, since you most probably know them already and will just continue to flat out lie, and i neither have the time nor will to waste too much efforts on such an repugnant liar as you.

No. Understand that I don't quite care about oppressive Muslim figures that used their own religion to enforce bigotry on the weak. That is not limited to them even; but to any institution with power.

Corruption is not my topic here. And insisting on turning and diverting the topic from speaking about "God's word" to speaking about "the actions of people" is nothing but intellectual bankruptcy.

The topic is about what God said in the Quran; full-stop.

I want to point out that your effort and response demonstrates that you know the shit content exists.  You flat out lied with the sunni/shia song and dance and you knew you were lying when you did it.  What does allah think about that, objectively?  What does it mean when you're still doing it to another person in the same post, even as you acknowledge the lie in conversation with me?

Instead of babbling "magic book" over and over; it would be better to demonstrate with verses that prove what you say.

We can stop right here, then. God said nothing in the Quran, just as God said nothing in the Bible or the Book of Mormon or any other so-called ‘holy’ book.

God’s silence is positively deafening.

I don't give a rat's ass what the Koran says.

Your problem is that there are people -like me- truly believe that it is God's word and it is a personal constitution for the believers.
Thus; if somebody said that the word of God said "this" or "that"; then it's so different than simply saying "I reject it; full-stop".

My discussion is not for the latter; but for the first type that say "but the Quran said this or that"; knowing that "this" and "that" are not true; the Quran never said so.

Right, so lets ask all the muslims currently alive, and in history what they think about it. Who cares about a single dishonest, ignorant asshole?

I absolutely don't have a problem with you believing that the Quran is God's word.  You can believe whatever tickles your taint.  What you believe is none of my bloody business.

Once you start acting on some of your screwy beliefs as a way to harm those people who don't share you delusions is a different kettle of a horse of another colour, though (and no, not you personally).  And when you go to such great lengths to try and prove that your religion is fit for decent, compassionate human beings, I just have to laugh.  Har har.

That's false. Taghut' means any object of worship other than God, it's certainly not disbelief per se.

(March 11, 2020 at 3:37 am)WinterHold Wrote: The verse can't be clearer: isn't this identical to the secular rule that prevents the enforcing of belief on anybody?

Islam is literally the last religion one can hope to secularize, it just won't happen.

Let me ask you this : Is changing religion equivalent to changing socks according to you ? Since you take the verses literally, the Qur'an also says : Fitna' is more serious than murder. This really means undermining someone's most cherished beliefs is worse than killing him. If someone mocks beliefs publicly with the intent of causing political distress, he's commiting Fitna', a more serious crime than murder according to the Qur'an.

That is, losing an afterlife - i.e. going to hell - is logically a worse outcome than losing this life - Under the null hypothesis that there is an afterlife, of course. This is why apostasy is condemned in Islam, threatening belief in God is far worse than threatening life itself.

The null hypothesis is the existence of afterlife? Hilarious

Clearly the meaning of null hypothesis has slipped past him. Bwahahahaha!!!
