Good luck with your company Drich, I hope you still have it on the other side of this pandemic or at least have something left to show for it.

Step up to the plate and offer to produce something we need now. In your case portable mortuary freezer trailers/trucks. Team with some of the other people in the industry you know to speed up production. Company 1 builds the chassis, company 2 builds the enclosure, company 3 builds the refrigeration system, and company 4 integrates everything.

Write a proposal explaining why your system is better, how long it will take, how many units you can produce in X amount of time, and that if awarded this project will save X amount of companies and Y number of jobs. Send it to FEMA, DHS, EMS for all the states, and the big cities. Start with New York and Chicago. Offer to build them at cost. After all the end goal isn't to make a buck, but save your company and help out your country in the process. After all cost includes not just your material and labor, but also your rent, utilities, office staff ect.. so you wouldn't be losing anything.

I'm registered with DHS and FEMA as a supplier! lets see what happens.

I know they are using semi trucks for bodies in nyc, which means those truck have to be dedicated for human or biomedical disposal as they can never be used again for anything else. which means these are dedicated biowaste purposed trucks. probably out of a bio waste company.

the 20 unit deal looks like will not be needed by the time funding is available as they were needed to shuttle test materials from on site testing to labs. it seems they have developed insta tests.

this new deadline of june is what scares me. we normally have 2/3 of a year to make enough money to keep us afloat in the winter, and with the first 1/3 gone the summer is all we have, but if a few weeks are consumed by quarantine then i don't see how we can make it given the normal dead time for this business.

Which is why i am sharing this as it will take something well out of the ordinary for us to keep going.

thanks as i said above it will take a miracle for us to make it.. we will see.

Sort of. If one simply stops working one gets the free loot. If one does any paying work, one loses the free loot. All of it.

So I have to assess whether there is enough out there to continue to trade, or shall I abandon customers entirely.

Now, the last on site I did was to facilitate a customer + staff working from home.

If I got one of those a week, I am nowhere financially, but if I accept the government money, I can't do that anyway else I lose the gov loot.

Rock and a hard place.

ETA: To be fair, the gov is hurling money at people, fair play. But solo folks like me end up in a kind of limbo. I HAVE to serivice the customer. Otherwise somebody else will.

people will remember who stuck it out and was there for them. if you cant afford to eat poop for the next month file for the money. or if you can I would try and keep my doors open. if you file only get one or two people to service then maybe let it go, or if it is like a full service month then you can always give the money back.
