Basically, I think what I'm saying is that, in general, the enlightened atheists are, and should try to be, the educators of the ignorant misguided theists.

I hold many beliefs that I don't like, and refuse to entertain many beliefs that I do or probably would.  Often enough, the two are related, lol.

I'd point out that you aren't telling people they can believe in anything they like if you add the "nice to people" qualifier, either. Any belief that makes a person not nice to people is one left outside the approved circle. Can you think of any such beliefs, that have a proven history of making people not nice to other people?
