The jitters are reduced by physical activity. I walked long walks when I was quitting. (Sometime I had to take a cab home.) Housekeeping is another way to keep active and busy. (Explain this to your co-residents or they'll think you're a pod person. I know.)

I can't really offer you any advice, as I never took up smoking, so I can't relate to what you're struggling with.  But I wish you all success.

Outstanding idea - EVERYONE should know how to cook (although my good lady wife disagrees with that assessment). It's a basic human skill that everyone should have. Like the three R's - Reading, wRiting and hippo wRangling.

Smoking was something i hated in the beginning , but during my distance education degree days i started smoking .

Then struggled a lot to quit ,

Now i am 6 plus months "smoke" free .

I stopped smoking with the help of gums

But nowadays i can't live without the gums , that is the problem .

I will somehow slowly quit this too .

Every day you don't smoke is one more day added to your future. I'm 69 years old with COPD. Lung function at 55%. If I had kept on smoking I would have suffocated a good many years ago. Not a pleasant way to die. Every today is an extra tomorrow when you quit.

@Gawdzilla Sama

So you have smoked before ?

Yes that is what his earlier post said , i did not see that properly .

I am 34 , so i think it was a good time to stop "smoking" .

I smoked from 1970 to 1988. I quit on October 1st, 1988, at 7:30 AM. I flushed entire carton of cigarettes down the toilet at that time. Ripped each pack open and dumped them into the shitter. Watched them sink and sent them off to Hell. Thirty two years later the pulmonary folks say I have completely new lungs.
