Quote:So, what is it that Trump should have done differently? 1. Been less of a twat. 2. Taken all opportunities to minimize his own twatishness. 3. Met with professional image consultants about how to appear to not be a huge twat. 4. Not promoted conspiracy theories and unproven, untested drugs (both are marks of having a bad twattitude). 5. Lied like a professional, instead of like an unscripted twat. Boru

To the OP; How would you describe Bolsonaro's handling of the Pandemic in Brazil?

What about if Trump made sure there are enough ventilators? Or Coronavirus tests? Maybe this will help you to get some clues
teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"

Well... most of the sentiments have already been expressed. I'd just go with; "Should never have offered himself up for election." But, he's not the monkey in charge of my political circus. Best wishes to you Yanks.
Since the whole thing is FUBAR and the 'experts' (Pence, Fauci, Birx) are now using soft terms describing COVID/corona as flu-like, as per Trump's earlier mentions, downplaying the severity, I would say that any responsible action would have been better at any point in time. That change in verbiage is so subtle but very important...is the gaslight dimmer?
Though it would be a lie and would have to be fed through him like a ventriloquist dummy...perhaps expressing some sympathy toward the people who lost loved ones would help him not look so much like the complete fuckweasel that he is. What we have to continue to rely on is our governors, county commissioners, and mayors. Hopefully enough of them will possess the spine needed to take a stand in trying to protect the people they represent. I know our mayor is doing a fanfuckingtastic job, and it's a good thing because the leadership for the county and the state have their lips firmly planted on Trump's ass - or somewhere nearby. Orange man bad, responsible for C19.Because only one person or group can share the blame for any given problem and if anyone exacerbates the problem, they don’t need to be held accountable since there’s already someone else to blame for the initial problem, right? And if you’re still confused about the Kool-Aid/Jonestown thing, I would highly recommend you listen to Last Podcast on the Left’s series on Jonestown (Episodes 300-4). It’s a bit less than ten hours long (and, until last year's look into Mormonism beat it out, was their longest series to date, and is currently their third-longest, behind only Mormonism and their recent series on the JFK Assassination), but worth it, and given the nature of the lockdown you’re in, it’s probably not like you have much better to do. And somehow, Marcus manages to wrap it all up in one of the most poignant moments of the podcast: Marcus Parks Wrote:So in the end, Jim Jones only got half of what he wanted. He wanted to die, and he wanted to take people with him and he got that, but he didn't get the legacy. He wanted a grand revolutionary gesture that would inspire others; that would make people see him as a great man. What he got was a joke and a bad one at that. He got pundits and politicians and writers smirking as they casually shrink this tragedy down to one stupid, thoughtless phrase which has become Jim Jones' biggest contribution to the world: 'Don't drink the Kool-Aid'. And the weird thing is that it's controversial that actual Kool-Aid was involved, because apparently the actual brand used was Flavor-Aid, although Kool-Aid has become a generic trademark, and, to muddle things further, footage of the compound taken before November 1978 show that both Flavor-Aid and Kool-Aid were among their supplies and the inquest report repeatedly mentions "Cool Aid," spelled with a C, but never with a K.

Every American shares the blame for how we are letting this thing spread. Other countries fucked it up, too. Basically, everyone I know is going out to exercise, do yard work, and whatever. People I don’t know in my city have been having block parties. All the people had to do was stay inside. Easiest directive ever given. Our government has failed us by not enforcing a long term lockdown and not providing us with food and shelter and free internet. How could they have done that? By having used our behemoth military budget to actually be prepared for a biological agent which was one of the most foreseeable problems possible. Military, national guard, homeland security and this was the plan in case of bio-terror? Do nothing?
I’m not claiming the virus was man made if anyone read that into it. I’m saying it shouldn’t matter. For what we spend (waste actually) expecting to be prepared shouldn’t be a reach. We suck. From Trump on down to everyone else. Sorry for the bad news. |
