smoking, eating and drinking
For about the last 11 years I've....over excessed on all three.

Now that the sh*t has hit the fan I would like to ask for help and advice from the Forum community to abolish these demons.


I'd enjoy looking like a 19 year old instead of 36 which everyone seem to F*cking remind me.

Not sure a forum is the best form of dispersing advice on these matters. You should probably see a health doctor if you really want to change.

I used to be a size 12 and over the past year dropped to a size 6 and lost over 20 pounds. I did this by making small but important changes to my lifestyle such as switching out regular pasta with wheat pasta, eating oatmeal for breakfast instead of Dunkin Donut's egg sandwiches. I got a bike and used that for exercising. If you try to lose weight by making dramatic changes I think it's harder to succeed. But if you make changes that work with how you live, it's much easier. Also, always have a cheat day. If you don't, you're chances of failing are higher.

As for smoking and drinking, I quit smoking 2 weeks ago by sheer willpower. But then again I'm not a heavy smoker and it was easy for me to make the step, I'm asthmatic. I don't have any problem drinking, so can't help you there.

Well I'm into fitness, In fact I can out run almost everyone in my street. I'm affriad there is no short cuts to a fit and healthy lifestyle. Eat plenty of healthy foods, like fruits, fish, veg (Yes I said veg!).
Also alot of exersise!

No short cut's I'm affriad. It's all hard work! I get my exersise from long distance walking, biking and my fav - Hang gliding which gives you a great deal of exersise.

Throw away the fags, drinks and fast foods and replace them with healthy foods and plenty of exersise. You hear it alot, That's because it's true. There is no short cut to a fit lifestyle.

I'm currently working on mucle build, So far good results but just like weight loss, it takes a great deal of work and time.

I tried eating low fat meals, they we're a fortune and never worked. I tried eating only fruit and veg, that turned my insides into mush and I was sick for a week.

I tried hiking but there are no areas around here to go and I have to go scotland which is over a 300 mile drive. Even more if I want to go to the highlands.

I tried walking around town for an hour or two. That made my feet feel like shit and I was plowing through shoes.

Push ups are my favorite. On the knuckles about 1.5 feet apart at the level of your shoulders.

But that messed up my shoulders. Same goes for weights and the gym.

I can't take things slow, I have to get it all done there and then. instead of starting small and working my way up I'd jump in the deep end and mess everything up.

Low fat ready meals are expensive, and not really that much better than normal ready meals (less fat but very similar calorie levels from what I've seen). Try cooking from scratch, you know what you are putting into it and can adjust things to make it more to your taste. Admittedly, this will probably take more than the 5 minutes required to heat up a ready meal but it'll be a lot healthier and not just "fruit & veg".

An exercise machine I quite like is the cross trainer, very low impact, especially if you are at a stage where walking too much hurts. Once you are a bit fitter then walking "around town" will probably be easier.

Your muscles aren't used to being used in that way, there is no option other than gradual increase in what you try to do.

You might want to do everything immediately, but you also need to realise that it has taken 11 years for you to reach this point, how can you expect to undo all that in a couple of weeks?

Are you 36 and want to look 19? Or are you something like 30 and everyone thinks you are 36?

There is NO short cut!

There's a huge problem with your little hypothesis. Food is so processed I wouldn't be suprised if I bought a salad and there was a lump of lard in the centre of it. Unless you get something straight from the farm it's been pumped full of chemicals.

Then there's "you must eat 20 grams of bread" or something like that.
Every onze has to be eaten at an exact time.

Then theres exercise. That's even worse. People keep saying you must do 20 minutes of *this* and 30 minutes of *that* then rest for 5 minutes, then do an hour of *this*

I don't do warm ups. I don't care if it's going to cause damage, that's my problem. I kept getting hassle from people when I was weight lifting because I wasn't doing it right. Just gimme the fucking weights and leave me be.

That's what I hate about this, people overly complicate something inhearently simple. They feed you bullshit, then you get given more bullshit from people who actually know what they're talking about but you pass it off for bullshit anyway.
