Bigamy is no longer a felony in Utah

Quote:Bigamy is no longer a felony in Utah
Polygamy has been practiced in Utah by certain religious groups since before it became a state and continues to persist to this day.
Though the practice has long been illegal under state and federal law, the Utah attorney general's office has declined to prosecute the offense, except when it's committed along with other crimes.
The new law makes the attorney general's policy official.

And what about polyandry?
I guess members of "certain religious groups" can't live without having orgies every night.
teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"

What kind of whackjob woman would think that's a good deal?
Think about it guys - would you really want to hook up with a woman who is mentally deficient enough to go along with this sort of arrangement?

I’ve never been convinced that, other than age restrictions, ANY law enforcing who can marry who or how many is a good idea.

Polyandry is subsumed under ‘bigamy’. If a woman has two or more husbands, she’s in a bigamous relationship.
The common confusion results from the fact that the correct term for a man with multiple wives (polygyny) has largely fallen out of general use.

My only question is how the taxes and health benefits work with this.
Not all polyamory is because of religion.

The only type of marriage which on first principle should not be good idea for law to regulate is a Type that is not recognized as marriage of any sort in law. If The law recognize it in any meaningful way, then the recognition Itself carries the burden Of Regulation.
What ‘type’ did you have in mind?
