Yea, thanks for reminding me it is illegal to be retired. But to be somewhat fair, I don't know how long my nest egg will last. I am trying to get it to last till social security. So far I am doing ok. 

So to answer your question, no, I don't need a job. Would you work if you didn't have to?

No one said it was illegal. What a normal person would have done with your windfall would have been to continue working to make SURE the nest egg would last. Remember when you had that panic attack because your couldn’t reach your finance guy? If had manned up and gotten a job, you could have avoided that.

Of course I’m not you, and I thank my lucky stars for that. But don’t ask a question if you’re going to discard the answer. Some of us - as long as we’re able - like to be productive and useful. If you want to spend the rest of your life being bone idle, that’s your business. But you DID ask me.
