The government shouldn't deify insurrection. There's no law against such things on private property, put it in a Klu Klux Klan Hall of Fame if they wish.

Every year I send my grandmother a very small statue of Hitler so she doesn't forget she survived the Holocaust. It's not fun for either one of us, but it's literally the only way.
teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"

Then the libtards will whine about it being on private property. They'll probably end up burning down the building it is in.

We all know where your country came from. A statue of Lee is little more that a reminder of how racism has been enshrined and supported by the US since its inception.
A statue of a dishonest, opportunistic, brutally racist slave trader isn’t a ‘record’ of history (that’s what books are for).

People aren't born with a knowledge of US history. Most adults do not know anything about US history.

Sure it is. And I bet the next thing you libtards are going to do is start burning history books that mention slavery. You guys are nuts.

You are the actual retard because you don't even know how people learn. So, while you have been learning from plush toys in your special school, normal people learn history from books, lectures, museums, documentaries and not statues.

People never learn or cannot learn history from a statue? That's very interesting. Tell me more.

Let's dispel the notion that these statues are ANYTHING but to serve as a memorial to honor traitors who fought against the United States Government in order to preserve the institution of slavery. Statues built to serve as nothing more than racist symbols co-opted by the Klu Klux Klan and other White Supremacist Groups in order to oppress black Americans.
Tearing down these statues would be making history in and of itself.
I'm totally sure you thought the statue of Saddam Hussein should stay up in Iraq, to you know... serve as a reminder of history. Oh wait, no, I bet you celebrated tearing down his statue and will call this 'false equivalence' because this isn't about History, it's about your 'heritage' which is really just 'hate'. That's what the confederacy is, and it's what it's always been. To pretend otherwise... well I'd say that makes you one of the 'adults who don't know anything about history'.

We have no good reason to dispel that notion.

I'd rather they stay up for the same reason I gave earlier.
I'm not an emotional person so statues don't bother me. Maybe that's part of the problem.
