Fatal shooting of Rayshard Brooks

RE: Fatal shooting of Rayshard Brooks
This is the best, no dodgy fake news reporters twisting the narrative to fit their ideology...

A handful of questions

They said they were with him for 40 minutes. Why so long? Here in Oz they'll have u in the cop car within 10 minutes

Why do they make people do all that silly stuff to see if their pissed? Here they just put the straw to your mouth and tell u to blow

Can a person be handcuffed and detained in America without being arrested? I don't think he can in here
Because Rayshard was found asleep in his car in the parking lot. He wasn't driving. So why was he being handcuffed?

At 3:06 in the clip the cop says "you had about one and a half drinks" they talk and the cop says "I think you've had too much to drink to be _ _ _ _ _ "
What does he say there.? "driving"? I can't quite make out what he says and its the key word

I don't understand why Rayshard ran. His car was there, registered. U can run but u can't hide. They have ur car they have ur address basically, true?

I'd like to understand those things but one thing I would suggest is to have a higher standard to become a cop.
Cops that are fit, strong would of never got manhandled and disarmed like those amateurs did.
Cops that are good under pressure to make the right decisions. They had so many opportunity to tase him
Cops that are decent shooters... Shots should never have been fired here but in situations where a cop is going to use a firearm, he better be good.

This cop fired 3 rounds aimed at center of mass from 2 meters away. When he has 16 bullets that could be fired below the waist...
Was this a bad choice made by a cop who would of been physically exhausted and in a state of extreme panic? A cop who shouldn't be making the cut
Or was it just so point blank range that it is just undeniably the intent to kill?

So questions more than anything from me... Cheers
(ps don't respond if your just going to antagonize pls)

I dunno...

Dumbass drunk meets hyperass cop.

They both own part of it......

...

And as far as 16 bullets and shooting below the waist?

You been watching too many cowboy movies sonny.

You ALWAYS shoot center mass. And shooting while running? It's a tough trick even in training. In R/L? I am amazed he connected.

No, they don’t ‘both own part of it’. The cop who shot was not, and could not have reasonably believed, that he was in imminent danger of death or serious injury. Brooks was running away and was shot in the back. Twice.

It’s almost as if the cop was thinking, ‘Golly, if I don’t get that taser back, they’ll make me pay for it.’

Your right except its more from video games. Ive shot rifles and shot guns but never a handgun

Cops are trained to shoot center of mass cos ur only meant to use a firearm in a situation is threatening, right?
Shooting to disable would be a risk in a dangerous situation.
Bottom line is he shouldn't have pulled the trigger

So whats the deal with walking the tight rope, touching your nose and looking like a clown? Why when u can just say "blow into this"?
And can u make out what the cop says just before trying to cuff him?

Pardon my ignorance of US legislation, but might the "three strikes" law have been applicable for this DUI?

You are arguing that a guy deserved to be shot, because he was pointing a tazer at a cop, while running away. Let that sink in for a while.........and then please tell us more what ideology has to do with any of that.

You think pople are (co)responsible for being shot to death, because they resist arrrest and try to run away? Wow

I looked it up for you.  This is the penalty for a third DUI in Georgia, the state where Brooks was killed:

Quote:Georgia DUI law considers an Atlanta DUI third offense in ten years to be the last step before trying future convictions as felony crimes.  A Georgia DUI third offense carries a mandatory 15-day jail sentence, with fines ranging from $1,000 to $5,000.  Driver’s license revocation extends for five years (if there are three convictions within five years), and community service is required for 30 days.  The name, address and photo of the offender is published in a local newspaper at his or her expense.

Third offenders are declared to be habitual violators (if there are three DUI convictions within five years).  Their license plates are confiscated, mandatory clinical evaluation is required and the courts can require completion of a substance abuse treatment program, as well as installation of an ignition interlock device on their vehicles.

You'll notice that nowhere does it say that a third DUI offense is punishable by death administered by the cop on the scene, prior to a conviction in a court of law.

In fact, I think I’m on fairly sold ground in saying that NOTHING Brooks did in the video (sleeping in a car, being drunk, driving drunk, resisting arrest, stealing a taser, running away) carries the penalty of summary execution.

In response to why didnt the police use a breathalyser instead of making him do stupid tests I've only seen a video clip of him taking a breathalyser, the police were being friendly at that point.

Are you ready for the fire? We are firemen. WE ARE FIREMEN! The heat doesn’t bother us. We live in the heat. We train in the heat. It tells us that we’re ready, we’re at home, we’re where we’re supposed to be. Flames don’t intimidate us. What do we do? We control the flame. We control them. We move the flames where we want to. And then we extinguish them.

Impersonation is treason.

Thank you. I only asked the question to try and make sense of why he'd resist arrest in such a determined way like that, loosing his vehicle too. I agree, having watched the video, that the cop should not have fired. Poor training I deduce.
