ST. LOUIS — A white St. Louis couple pulled weapons, including what appeared to be an assault rifle, on Black Lives Matter protesters who marched through their upscale neighborhood Sunday on their way to the mayor’s house.

A 31-second video posted on Twitter shows the couple outside their home, the man shouting at the protesters as the couple points their weapons at the crowd. It is unclear in the video what the man is shouting. Several demonstrators are heard urging fellow marchers to move on and ignore the couple.

The Riverfront Times in St. Louis, which had a reporter and photographer at the scene, identified the couple as personal injury lawyers Mark and Patricia McCloskey.

Well, the protestors WERE trespassing and (according to the McCloskeys) some of them were using threatening language.

Clearly, the brandishing of firearms was fully and completely justified.

I saw that shit. And people wonder why I argue that it should not be as easy as buying a hamburger to get a firearm.  "No record at time of buy" doesn't mean you won't do illegal shit after that legal purchase. The husband claimed they were afraid. OF WHAT? Unarmed peaceful protesters in the middle of the day with tons of cell phone cameras recording everything?

And for that matter, it is a crime to even aim your firearm at anyone and can be considered assault even without firing it. If they had aimed those firearms at police they would have been charged if not shot. So why is it ok for white people to aim guns at people and not be charged?

They were not afraid. They were afraid time was passing them by.

Good. I am sick of civilians with firearms thinking they have the right to play Rambo. 

It is one thing if it is the middle of the night and you hear glass break and see an intruder in your house. This was not the case here. This was a case of selfish self entitled assholes fearing change.

Out of all the firearm owners I know, I trust you, I really do. There are tons of sane firearm owners who do the right thing, but also accept we have a flooded market and ease of access problem. If firearm owners thought like you, I could rest a hell of a lot easier. 

These insecure morons were willing to shoot peaceful unarmed protestors for what? Walking on their lawn? If trespassing were justification for murdering someone then I'd be dead several times over.  Even today, sometimes I have to cut through yards to cross a main road, because there are no public sidewalks on that main road to get to the strip mall to go to the Chinese Restaurant or gas station. The worst that has ever happened in the 13 years I have lived here is that one guy said, "This is private property", but even then, he didn't pull a firearm on me.

Yea, but unlike the far right you accept that it is a responsibility, and not just a right. Our flooded market is due to the industry and their corporate lobbies selling the idea that everyone should be able to buy like a hamburger. It is great for the profits of the companies sure, but it costs America far more in deaths and injuries and mental health and first responding.
